Maybe, maybe not, NATO has good first strike capabilities but it's ill equipped for a long war, hence the need for conscription
True maybe but we'll have more bombers than sense and air supperioiry...and although that doesn't outright win a war I think it's a bloody nice thing to have that the current war is very mixed over.

I just want it to stop. Hopefully the signals coming from the Kremlin for a desire for the war to end can be used somehow to make it happen for everyone’s sakes. I just don’t see the war ending without Ukraine making a concession - as tragic and unfair as that is. The fact Russia is probably lying isn’t lost on me

I think Putin may struggle to settle for anything less than the territories that he claimed are now Russian, and selling that to the population or Russia.
After two (more like 10) years of being fed propaganda about Ukraine being full of Nazis, Nato and every other evil, would the population accept it?
If the street interviews are correct, the majority fully believe they are in the right and Ukraine should be crushed, how do the government spin the fact they have not achieved the goals.

Russia wanting peace talks is utter bull poop. At best they want a pause in fighting to allow conscription rates to exceed the rate at which their meat waves are getting killed so they can regain the numbers advantage - and also Putin likely doesn't want to go into an election with war hanging over. Even though the ballot papers are pre-filled for convenience, large numbers of people gathering to "vote" is going to be an internal security nightmare if things kick off in the big cities.
