Course he would - people seem to misunderstand Russia badly in this respect - their mentality is to use this stuff more towards early on - life is cheap, rather than the mentality in the West whereby having people operate stuff like this would be a last resort. Which is skewing people's perceptions as to just how desperate Russia is or isn't (not to say they aren't in a bad place or they are holding the best stuff back :cry: ).

Indeed, East German/Yugoslavian StG-44 rifles turned up in the wars in Libya, Syria and Ukraine. I doubt anyone who ended up on the business end started laughing at the WW2 weapon.

If it works it works, hell five years ago a British SAS Sargent killed three Taliban fighters with a claw hammer, and they're from the 1500s! :p

Yeah - most gun designs actually pre-date WW2, the M2 Browning for example dates back to approx. 1917 (some in active use today are nearly that old even).

I remember there being a video from around 2011 or so of insurgents in Syria who’d overran a Syrian Arab Army base breaking into a shipping container and finding dozens of STG-44’s in crates, completely unused and in brand new condition, which they were taking out of the crates and then handing them round, posing with them for selfies etc. Thing is, in their condition they could have fetched around $20,000 each on the collectors market at the time. Imagine how many Chinese AK-47 knock offs they could have bought! :eek:

Would have thought they’d be a liability though, as I imagine 7.92x33 Kurz would be really, really hard to come by these days.

It's quite amazing what you can achieve when you simply don't care how many people die in order to achieve an objective. For Putin the trade will be worth it if he gains territory, who knows population of Russia may even go up once they successfully annex more land.

For all we have said about the attack at Avdiivka Russia did managed to keep it a secret till it launched (from memory), I wonder why this one got out or has the illusion that Russia wont keep attacking evaporated and any mass of troop is now known to be an offensive.

Sounds like you are creating faux rage. Those are just opinions on someone and those opinions are an accurate description of Carlson. You've proved nothing.
