I cannot imagine that Russia is doing anything except produce as many arms as their economy will allow, any alteration to this would require radical changes to their economy which would damage it in the long term

They are going through significant changes to their economy, including mass de-privatisation of military and strategic civil industry, with currently increasing percentage of it underpinned by military spending, turning away from military spending is going to be hugely damaging to it in the long term as well.

The only hope of averting another Cold War is the next US election.

Putin doesn't have a single reasonable demand, Trump selling out Ukraine isn't going to avert a Cold War, only maybe delay it a little.

Nah, it's just some bizarre thing that's been made up to promote support for Ukraine. During the Cold War at the height of the USSR, they would've actually been capable of capturing Western Europe minus the UK, right now their forces are bogged down in Ukraine fighting World War 1 style - yet we're supposed to believe they're a threat to the most powerful military alliance ever conceived. NATO spends 1.3 trillion on defence combined and our militaries total strength is 3.3million professional soldiers, this compared to Russia spending $86bn and their army sits at around 1.3 million during the largest conflict they've been involved in since World War 2. We Dwarf Russia and would be fighting a defensive war where we're basically superior in every category except tactical nuclear weapons. This talk of a World War is complete horse manure.
Yet your big solution to stopping further war wants NATO dismantled because he's a Kremlin stooge.

Ukrainian general claims their F16's will come with JASM missles, or similar air launched missiles

It's not clear which version they are claiming but most likely referring to the base version which officially around 370km with a 450kg warhead. There is also the extended range version, which keeps the 450kg bunker buster warhead and increases range to 920km, which they don't need at all so they won't get it. And then also found out Lockheed has a new contract to start building JASM-XR missiles for delivery starting this year - this latest variant has a 950kg bunker buster warhead and a range of 2000km

Wouldn’t be long before someone puts the 950kg version through the window of the Kremlin so perhaps there might be some hesitance giving those. Although being able to hit some more factories will be helpful, just a shame it can’t reach those ones in North Korea.

Video doing the rounds of an entire attack in the Novomykhailivka region being destroyed by drones.
That the one with the two tanks crashing into each other?

That column got solo'd be FPV drones alone before they even got close.

11 more vehicles in the scrap bin + assorted katsaps.

Russians just can't adapt to this but Europe needs to give them all-the-ammo to hold the fort then we need to stock-up pronto.

Given how many high ranking Russian officers have killed it's no wonder there is a lack of leadership, direction and tactical nuance shown in these boneheaded attacks. It certain does lend credence to the rumours that General Valery Gerasimov was killed in a missile strike on Crimea (then again it was claimed Gerasimov was killed back in May 2022 which turned out to be false).

Has Putin even ever stated he wants Europe? I've listened to John Mearsheimer on this issue frequently and he's categorically said that isn't the case.

I don’t think Putin has said Europe directly. Putin has said he wants Russian (USSR) boarders back and pointed to Poland and other nations. People within the Kremlin have said Russia will push into Europe and Putin claims Russia has no boarders.

Your posting history betrays you, but if Ukraine falls that is exactly the direction the world is heading. Russia wants Europe not Ukraine. Useful idiots beware.
If Ukraine falls, and Trump gets power, then you could see how, on many fronts WW3 could ignite. Russia will aim towards the NATO baltic countries, China will likely look towards Taiwan with real intent, and who knows what Iran could conjure up in the middle east? Any sign that the U.S will weaken their position, either on NATO, or funding Ukraine's war effort will empower Putin. On top of that, stockpiles of munitions and equipment are running low, and if NATO countries start to think we're on a war footing, then all re-supply will turn to defending their own country. Supplying Ukraines war machine is the only viable option to easing any escalation. All eyes are on the U.S going forward.

Wow.
Start again on page one of this thread, because you find yourself horribly informed again.

Think of all the times people have pulled your posts for being at best, dangerously naive about this situation and Russian intentions.

Trump wanted NATO members to meet their minimum spending commitments, he wanted Germany to stop buying gas from Russia which was funding their military, if anything he was prophetic and smart with his comments to EU NATO members. Trump simply wanted value for money for US tax payers, which meant wealthy EU members like Germany funding their military at the agreed level and to stop funding Russia. Why the hell would the US subsidise the defence of Europe while we were funding the Russian military? It was plainly ******* stupid

Sigh.

The US and UK has been pushing for those things for decades. Nothing to do with Trump.

Trump would like to see/help Russia to supersede China and have the burden of war fall on Europe not the US. Trump could have drawn a line under the Ukraine-Russia issue when in office but chose not.

Complicated one as these are people like Medvedev who generally put out a lot of bluster or "jocular" comments, but it should also be noted that most of what they say is state sanctioned with some kind of intent behind it.

Considering everything, I see little for interpretation.

I think Vladolf expected a combination of a rapid invasion and takeover of Ukraine, along with cutting Europe off from cheap Russian oil and gas would have leaders bending the knee, allowing Russia until the 2030’s to exploit its new found wealth for a war chest forcing surrounding nations into capitulation.
