Just filled the car up. I chatted with the cashier, who said it was no busier than usual. Which surprised me.
Same here to be fair, I actually needed petrol and was going to get it 'sometime' before Monday but after reading the news off I trundled today...
It wasn't panic buying as such, I actually needed petrol and wanted to make sure I had the petrol before other people got the idea of panic buying into their heads (which was a pita last time).

On the way in I did see 'panic buying' of home oil for heating though...

How's it misinformation, they are literally flying jets over ' CHINESE AIR FORCE PLANES ENTERED ITS AIR DEFENCE ZONE '?
I think you are misunderstanding what misinformation means, take it how you wish. It's upto each individual on how they interpret that.

I'm sure if someone wanted to see every post that that twitter account spews out then they would be on twitter and following it already.

That's rubbish. Before the present actions from Russia the foreign investment was not embargoed under any international laws.

lol. No, it wasn't embargoed. It still isn't. Doesn't make it right though does it? Or make what I said any less true. The Tory party is a de facto Putin/Russian asset and Russian money financed the Brexit campaign and you still support both. So by proxy, you are too.

Really have not been reading this thread. “Normal” people calling for assassination, Nuclear war, burning environmentalists and no doubt more.

The whole world has gone nuts, less so if you don’t watch the news though :D

The audience on sky news a couple of weeks ago was quite telling. There was a woman on there who said "sod the polar bears and the ice caps, we need to help people with cheap gas" followed by lots of cheering and nodding.

Most lefties believe in mutual disarmament not unilateral. We also believe in peace treaties and strong alliances like NATO and the EU.

I think the fans of the EU and NATO are about to see how weak and fragmented the union actually is when under pressure, and how leviathan bodies like it can never make snappy decisions, unlike Mr. Putin. He must have been wetting himself watching the West dissolve into pathetic bickering over things as irrelevant to our long term security as politically correct speech, women and homosexuals drafted into the armed forces "for inclusiveness" , and our rampant consumerism from China whilst we were selling off of our means to self sufficiency.

We are in the midst of seeing what a powerful nation can do, unfettered by her being dragged back by liberal wets who have left us wanting, industrially, militarily and psychologically. What he must have thought as he saw us unable to even stop an invasion by thousands of unarmed illegal immigrants in rubber dinghies I am embarrassed to even contemplate. How he must have smiled as the Greens left Germany dependent upon him for the vast majority of her energy needs. How he must have chuckled over the media storm about a birthday party in Downing Street, whilst he built up an invasion force under the West's very noses.

One concern with Russia, is whether this is sort of a "last hurruh"/ desperate power play for a country that might be aware of its slip into obsecurity.

Isnt their economy massively based around the export of gas and oil? If so, with most of the western world looking to renewable/clean sources of energy, perhaps they are fully aware that they will be cippled economically anyway as that transition continues.

I read somewhere that for Russia to "survive" economically, the price of gas and oil has to stay above a certain level and that the covid price drops did a lot of damage.
