Hmmm...I've just checked your build and the components are definitely correct. I'll be interested to see this tomorrow. Have you got the correct CPU?
Hi
Just home now. Checked device manager and the hard drive is shown as a WD3200BEKT (320Gb 7200rpm) so that's good newsThe tick list shows a Fujitsu 5400rpm item so luckily I think your builders have gone off my order rather than the tick list or something.
The RAM however is still a problem. The tick list shows part MY-124-OC (2x 2Gb DDR3) but CPU-Z recognises it as a single stick of 2Gb DDR2![]()
Will see you tomorrow hopefully, thanks for your help online.

Anyone know how to istall XP Pro from scratch... i get the blue screen error message :-
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the Stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try chaging video adapters.
Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.
Technical error is **** STOP: 0x0000007e (0x0000005,0xf748e0bf,0xd78da208,0xf78d9f08)
Turn the laptop on and keep tapping the F2 key to get into the BIOS. There is an option to select whether you are installing XP or Vista. They are set at default as Vista but if you install XP without changing the setting you do get a BSOD.
