Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy on PC - mid-2022

Doesn't seem too well optimised for me, certainly when compared with GoW and Spodermin.

I'm struggling to get a solid 60fps at 1080p with DLSS and there's no way to disable and set a custom resolution. Options are DLSS off at 4K or DLSS on at 1080p, no 1080p DLSS off option.

Also render latency is sitting at 25ms which makes it feel pretty unresponsive :(

Does not sound right, what specs are you running?

Should be able to use FSR2 or DLSS fine at either resolution so make sure FSR is off before trying to change DLSS.

Just on a laptop - 10875H 'n' 2080 Super max Q. Uncharted is a good looking game but it's nothing which suggests 60fps is unattainable.

Not sure if well optimised but never really goes below 120fps at 1440p, whack on DLSS Quality and it's hitting 165fps and that's my screen's refresh rate. Runs well, looks quite good, lighting is a bit meh, but good.

How far are you, chapter? The game seemed to come alive, the lighting around Chapter 10.

Just installed this, fresh to any Uncharted game, loving the parkour elements giving me Prince of Persia vibes, runs really well, looks gorgeous in DLDSR, DLSS very welcome

Played all the games over the years and preferred 3, which is an odd choice but i felt had the best action moments and pacing, 4 to me was strangely on of the worst alongside 1, for some reason i struggled to get through it, maybe i was just burnt out on Uncharted series

Running extremely well all maxed out until I reach the part where you are required to pickpocket a key card from a waiter at an auction, it freezes the moment I finally lift the card, I tried various things but the same thing happens.
I tried an online suggestion to run an earlier Nvidia driver but it then went through 1/2 hour of shader re-settings and then froze at the same point in the game. I think I'll uninstall and reload it.
Try lifting the card without using Sam's help, game won't let you at first try, so 2nd or 3rd... Otherwise reload last save and try again, that did the trick for me, game seem to have problem with this particular bit...

So according to online news, this has been Sony's weakest PC launch to date, it doesn't help that they pretty much did no marketing for PC Gamers for this. Sad tbh and only themselves to blame.

Nevertheless, I am enjoying it but have noticed that in the recent patch on STEAM they have changed the way mouse sensitivity works. I had both aim and camera set to 100 before as it was just too slow out of the box, now have had to drop them down to 65 and the mouse movement is more instant now.

I have also noticed that some textures, even on all Ultra, shift/pop-in over the base texture when moving the camera around, not necessary moving close to it or walking away. Example:

Notice it's not all texture layers though, just that one area in that scene. Have not played much beyond this section though since the patch so will keep an eye out for more.

Edit*
Patch notes explains the mouse changes, yay for RAW input!
  • General stability & performance improvements
  • Updated mouse control to use raw input data
  • Removed frame rate dependency for mouse camera sensitivity
  • Updated HDR option to be grayed out instead of hidden when HDR support is not detected or enabled via Windows
  • Improvements to motion blur visibility

Haha motion blur is subjective, I have an OLED display and I still use motion blur depending on the game and fps achieved, it can make the experience seem smoother and I'm all for smooth gameplay

I havent played any of the others but very interested in picking this up. Is the story a continuation of the others or can i hop into it and generally understand whats going on?
