I bought this a few weeks ago on Blu-ray as a random purchase and yet to watch, so this is good to read! Heard good things and like you say, black and white always adds shedloads to the atmosphere - Psycho, The Machinist, Schindlers List etc.

The opening sequence to Casino Royale 2005 (Daniel Craig) remains one of the best ever Bond openings; Barbara Broccoli should have took the risk to stick with black and white throughout.

Pitch black is a fantastic movie, I love how they do the lighting the whole way through, very well directed.

Southern Comfort, in particular, is an absolute gem of a film. Also by Walter Hill, who made The Warriors which gets a lot of love here.

Dont forget Braindead, maybe even better than Bad taste

Another one! I loved this film as a kid, always remember when Dennis Weaver speeds up to 60mph and is breaking out in a cold sweat.

Breakdown (1997) is another underrated film - similar 'Duel' vibe.

Had forgotten all about this film. I think clips from it were subsequently used in something starring David Carradine.

Loved but was horrified by Duel when I was younger. They don't make trailers like they used too!

Cliffhanger, I have a massive soft spot for this film, I see it as Die Hard in the mountains. It was one of my list of films I will always watch if I come across it on the TV guide no matter how many times I've watched them, along with Where Eagles Dare and Kelly's Heroes.
