rumours are starting that berba will be out at the end of the season leaveing the door open for another striker possibly benzema.

hopefully NOT BENZEMA

if he was good, he wouldnt be leaving real and would have done something when he played against us for Lyon.

he's a waste of money.

Wow Sneijder must be really **** then. Just because you leave Real, doesn't mean you aren't a good player.

To be fair you have to question why Benzema's not in the team what with him being a big money signing from only this past summer

I disagree about him doing nothing against United though, scored a goal against us and looked like the only player capable of doing anything in the Old Trafford leg of that tie

Cant see us being in for him though, think we've more than likely moved onto someone more like Dzeko rather than go over old ground with Benzema. Beside he had the chance to sign for us and decided to go ruin his career at Madrid :p

I wouldn't miss Berbatov to be honest. However, I would feel a bit sorry for the guy but then again he is a dirty Bulgarian ;)

I dont know why but I have always had a soft spot for berbatov but he just hasnt performed well enough. He needs to go and be replaced by a top quality strike partner for rooney.

Dont care about winning things next year as long as we build a good side from it. You cant expect to just keep on winning with the same team ageing all the time and you cant rebuild a side in a season without massive amounts of investment.

Obertan is class.

Also, don't slate Carrick: he IS a great player. So what if he doesn't score goals? He has one bad game and everyone is knives out. In my opinion he is an excellent player.

Obertan is anything BUT class.

i was there live for his debut at OT. when he really did run straight off the pitch with his first touch. and then missed some easy shots right at the keeper.

Carrick is NOT a GREAT player. he is a good player who struggles in faster temp matches.

One bad game? he got that last year in the champions league final. whats his excuse this year?

IMO Scholes is a GREAT player, even whats his face irish midfielder is better than carrick.

wait, i said AND did you miss the AND clause to my statement?

its Torres or Tevez we needed. Benzema is too average to make an impact for us.

Tevez was very average in his 2nd year with us - personally really want to see how he is with City next year and the year after before I change my opinion of him (after all considering what he went through the summer before arriving at Utd he had a comparable season to this one with City)

Ronaldo is only looking average at Real so far, so give Benzema a chance - dont think he will move anyway, I just wanted to point that out :)

Several strikers out there who have either ruled themselves out of coming to Utd (Torres will never happen), or are too expensive if media speculation is even half right (Villa, Aguerro) or just signed an extension (Ajax striker)

You mean when Carrick was playing with a broken foot because there was no-one else to play in hte CL final

At best Gibson is a prospect - even more inconsistant this year than Carrick

Carrick was at the base of us winning 2 EPL titles and one CL (baring in mind he played over 50 games in both seasons) so he cant be that average - not to mention he was the ONLY transfer the summer before we won the 1st of the current three EPL titles - obviously meaning he was one of the missing links to us gaining back the title

(Im not sure how many games he played last season but it was a fair number, so it could easily be said 3 EPL titles and 2 CL finals- with one win)

Yes he hasnt played well this season - but its not just down to him either

He scored a great goal against us

Torres or Tevez?? One was crap for us and the other would never move to us, unless you are planning on shelling out the 50m+ it would cost and brain washing machinery?

Why not say we might as well not buy any midfielders because we need Messi as well?

BOLLLLL:D

(question is whether that would be for the player or for the other team's management.....or both)

LOL at blaming the Champions League final at Carrick, what was Anderson, Park, Giggs, Rooney and Ronaldo's excuses then?

Carrick seems to the 'new' Fletcher for ManU fans.

IIRC last year he was better than Alonso:p

yes carricks big mistakes gave them the goal...im sure Carrick got robbed doing his Supertanker ultra slow and ultra wide turning circle manouvre.

do you remember that for the first 10 minutes we ran almost rampant... conceded and then THEY ran rampant?

then do you remember Bayern...Carrick with Olic in the first half.. carrick falls over, Olic scores. the tie is then in jeapordy.

i dont know, its just a seemingly recurrent theme. Carrick+ball= bad news.

oh yea my other point... RE berbatov.

Last night chelsea vs Bolton, how many strikers did Chelsea play? 3. All mobile, 1 powerhouse, 2 lighter runners.

vs Blackburn how many strikers did UTD play? 1. No pace, not an out an out hitman, or targetman.

Berbatov is never going to do it up front on his OWN. its not how he plays.

to me it just shows how wrong/backward our tactics are.

If it wasnt for Fergies love of the 45--1 then maybe we wouldnt be lacking the goals?

If we had 2 reliable center midfielders would we have to pack the middle out with 3 each time? because our CMs are of a low standard, fergie doesnt want to expose them, hence he has to make up for each ones frailties with another?

want to play carrick? right we;ll be needing fletcher to do the running and tackling, carrick to do the passing, and then scholes to make up for carricks terrible passing and on the ball dawdling.

we used to have 2 ultra strong centermidfielders who picked themselves and didnt need someone to do the job for them, as they could cover it between themselves.

now the quality of them is so low we need to pack it out with quantity. its a sad truth.

To be fair though we were awful yesterday and extremely lucky to come away with a win. In all honesty none of the top teams are performing particularly well.

no but vs lower opposition at least they have the balls to play 3 forwards.

and dont give me, Nani this, or Valencia that. they dont play up front like Anelka or Kalou do. they play on the wing not really much more advanced than they would be in a 442...

and of course Vidic and Rio where nowhere to be seen when Olic had the ball, but its still Carrick's fault for being barged over in the penalty area:rolleyes:

Actually Kiko played as well so Utd had two strikers on the pitch for a lot of the game

Carrick was hardly barged over he just fell backwards with not much contact and gifted Olic the chance.

as for Rio/Vidic, well if they see carrick has picked someone up and they are committed elsewhere what can they do? you cant immediately double team the guy that carrick is covering at a given moment, its not possible, hes not a striker (Carrick) he shouldnt be useless in the box, well not as useless as he is in their box anyway.

Kiko? Sell...sell.sell.
