are you suggesting that stating that Carrick was particularly terrible in Moscow is incorrect? or that he was at least partly at fault against bayern is mis-information?
buying a new striker doesnt solve this problem.
like i said above having to play 3 CMs because any 2 of our 4 arent good enough to cut it without huge support?

Yes its completely incorrect - Utd wouldnt have held their own for 120 minutes + with 10 men (and dominated a fair amount of the match to boot) against Chelsea that night
He was equally at fault along with his team mates, In the 1st leg Utd sat back too much after scoring early and let them come onto us (all players on the pitch where responsible for that , but the whole of the midfield especially - not just one player) , the second leg was made hugely difficult by the sending off, but also the whole midfield lost a bit of fight and impetus which allowed BM to constantly attack Utd for 30 minutes or so (apart from a few counters)
Not one player was responsible for either imo, although I do think the fact Ribery "woke up" as soon as Rafael was sent off was an enormous factor in going out in the 1/4's

Robben made the goal - yes Ribery may have been the last person to touch the ball before him, not really a "setup/assist" though imo

Well they are probably the most supported team in the world, so it's hardly surprising.

dont quote me on this but didnt lampards goal hit carrick and went in, or wasnt it carricks fault for that goal against chelsea? (i forget)
but i did actually mean against barca not sure why i said in Moscow. But against Barca it was carrick who let them steal the ball to then score WHILST not even trying to win the ball back - sign of a bad midfielder.
against bayern carrick did so bad they had to sub him off..
in what world do you sub off your best centre midfielder if he isnt playing totally cack - given that you have a lot of other players who needed subbing for fitness reasons etc?

To be honest I dont recall who it came off, but from what I remember the Chelsea goal was a multiple riccochet in Moscow so that was just unlucky
Or maybe a sign of someone who was playing with a broken foot and doing the best he could at the time
Or Utd needed a different type of player, its not like it was a like for like swap (as Scholes took the holding role Carrick was playing and Gibson took Scholes role), Rooney kept on indicating he was ok if SAF felt that strongly he should have done something sooner in regards to injured players (we had been playing with 10 men for about 20 minutes plus before half time due to WR's injury - cant blame MC for that)

Wow so one corner means he wasn't rubbish in both legs..... didn't know that's all it took
The majority of United fans on this forum are just spoilt glory hunters to be honest who thinks if the team aren't playing like Barcelona then player x y and z need to be sold and the manager needs replacing
