Why the hell are they being so apologetic about Button, comparing his 3 grid penalty(which seems small considering most grid penalties?) to someone doing a donut.

It was a damn red flag, he had no idea it was because of a helicopter(afaik), even if he did know, it's a red flag, you do not race under a red flag, he was going faster than required and passed a flag. They keep coming back to it like it's harsh. It's not, pass under red is an obvious and deserved penalty. It could be harsh if the red light came on almost as he was passing someone and he was just about passing the first on track indicator of a red flag, but he passed 5 of them.

The "we like Button" commentary team making excuses, it's a joke. A donut when no one is racing, after winning a world title, off the track(afaik) in plenty of space isn't worth a penalty, but passing under a red flag on track is just something you should never do.

What the hell are those marshals doing in practice 2 right now?

They don't have a clue how to remove a car.

Vettel didn't get a penalty for doing donuts.
 
FP1 was delayed due to fog meaning the medical helicopter couldn't fly, then red flagged later when they suddenly noticed the medical helicopter wasn't there!

Was FP2 flagged?

Quite. I didn't see it. I don't need to see it. You pass under a red flag and you count yourself lucky you got off with a 3 place penalty and doff your cap for being such a turd.

Well Friday was both cold and foggy before it became blisteringly hot. Walked the whole track and barely any shade. Everything was big. The track, stands, food, people and prices!! Nowhere to get any water unless you wanted to pay $4.50 or $9.50 for a light beer.

Might take a trip up the tower tomorrow for $35 that isn't that expensive compared to some of the other stuff.

One day down, two to go.
 
Heikki had his chance.
He was in a title winning car and was terrible. And I mean terrible.
This was the whole reason why he ended up in a 'back of the grid' team and eventually got dropped - because he was nothing special.
