To be fair he is quite good at anticipating the end of the VSC period and gaining a few seconds, which is fair enough if you can do it.

Rosberg wins(edit:- as in over Ricciardo and gains a place his driving didn't deserve), would have been behind Ricciardo without VSC... also did he actually pass the Manor before backing off?

One, his team were clearly telling him to come back and try going faster then told him to stop. Second, his car clearly had some kind of gearbox problem and got stuck in gear. That means that had he stopped at the fire point down the straight and the gear got stuck then they'd need a truck actually on track to pick him up. More likely a full safety car.
