So what we think, EJ talking ****? or is it arrivederci Arrivabene???

With Ferrari's recent failures and their new boss being a throwback to the 90's Ferrari management, I wouldn't be at all surprised with about 1/4 of the team being fired and most of the race team management disappearing.

Essentially back to panic stations for them.

Sainz showing what a waste of a seat Palmer was!

Also what a waste of a talent at toro rosso, let's not forget he was as good as Max when they were on same team. Max got the headlines because of his age, but both are equivalent in terms of talent.

They will probably be together again in 2019 with RB honda, unless he has some clause in his contract where Renault could pick him up, although they have tried before unsuccessfully.

Sainz showing up what a **** driver Palmer is at F1 standard, great job on his first outing in the new car.

Another stonking qualifying lap by Hamilton and, to be fair, from Vettel too. Bottas continues to make Rosberg look better and better every time he gets in the car. Or, more worryingly, make himself look worse.

I think that depends upon the rest of this season. Vettel has had some bad luck, but a strong finish could save Arrivabene.

Agreed.

Bottas continues to make Rosberg look better and better every time he gets in the car.

Unless it's part of a cunning plan to ram Vettel at the start tomorrow. :)

Disagree. If Rosberg was running this year he'd have to cope with a much more competitive Ferrari and Red Bull. Those days when Rosberg was a third of a second off would put him several places down instead of second behind Hamilton.

Different times and different cars and rules. You may well be right in what you say, but the end result is what matters. Rosberg competed for poles with Hamilton. Bottas does not. And that's all that matters - the fan boys of the different sides can argue over whatever metrics they want to try and prove their point but it doesn't change the result.

Likewise, different times and rules for Bottas. He can't rely on the car being so much better than the Red Bull and Ferrari as Roberg did, because this year they are much more competitive. Rosberg only had to fight against his team mate. This year Bottas is fighting against Hamilton and four other drivers.

Bottas is indeed fighting against more competition, but he's failing. Rosberg was able to beat his team mate more often than Bottas has. His performance is troubling - this is yet another weekend when he's failed at qualifying, not to mention his race performance over this season.

Ricciardo must be very happy. He can under perform in 2018 compared to 2017 and still grab Bottas' seat with a decent contract.

Rosberg beat Hamilton in 33 of 78 races over four seasons; Bottas has, thus far, beaten him in 5 of 16. That's 42.3% vs. 31.3%. Which is a 10% difference and seems like a lot, however because the sample size for Bottas is much smaller these differences are not significant (a z-test gives a p-value of 0.41222).

If they were, I'd be interested. I want to see a decent battle, didn't bother with quali because it was obvious Hamilton would get it and it's obvious he'll walk the race. It's just not interesting.

He could break down? He has some tired parts on that car...or could get a bad start. Unfortunately at the start vettel is not in a position to challenge him as he will come worse off.
