Aaaaaaand a bad day for Haas gets worse. Magnussen disqualified for using more than 105kg of fuel. Apparently he broke the 105kg limit on the last lap of the race.

So, Perez 8th, Hartley 9th and Ericsson 10th.

You've been on quite a journey with your feelings about Vettel this season... :)

Mind you, he's had the faster car for much of the season and hasn't done much with it.

I was pleased for the Ferrari team today - they clearly really enjoyed the win and Kimi claiming it. It looks like they'll pay for their errors from the summer break until now but it looks like they've taken some steps back in the right direction now.

A win for the wrong driver - nothing to write home about, really. For me, win without value - except maybe that Leclerc will have a good car for next year.
About Vettel - everyone knows that he is prone to errors when he needs to seriously fight - he is good only when he leads with a dominant car.

Fernando probably would have claimed this title 2018 for Ferrari

This fuel thing is... odd. It's happened what once before in the first race for, someone in the first race of 2014, Ricciardo? Then not since, and two people in this race in the first and last lap?

Does it not somehow scream of some kind of telemetry rounding error which has say added outlap/inlap fuel usage to the first and last lap in these situations?

It seems bizarre that it would happen as a mistake on two separate teams in the same race having not happened almost at all since the regulations were established.

Ocon used more than the 100kg/h flow rate for most of the first lap, and Magnussen used more than the allowed 105kg of fuel throughout the entire race.
2 completely separate issues.

Seen some onboard from The last few laps of Magnussens car, his engineer was desperately trying to get him to lift and coast and slow down. They knew they were on the limit, but Magnussen evidently ignored them or didn't go far enough.

[edit] Ooooh... close but no cigar...

Unfortunately today we were racing in Formula Fuelsaving rather than Formula 1. And we used 0.1kg (!) too much for the whole race so we got disqualified. Those are the rules so we just have to manage better. Car was great though and the pit stop was amazing. On to the next one!

Been quite disappointed with Vettel this season and it seems something has been going on behind the scenes. Sky Italia apparently reported that he's had some family problems(tragedies) as of lately which could explain his drop in performance. As much as everyone is slating him on here don't be too quick to forget that all drivers have their ups and downs in their career, that includes Hamilton.

Bizarre
His drop in performance has been in action since Spa 2017. With slight ups and serious downs after that till the present day.

Vettel got destroyed by Ricciardo in his final season with Red Bull so it's not like he hasn't had dodgy seasons before. His performance in terms of speed this season hasn't been bad he's just made lots of errors and also fails hard at wheel to wheel racing which is unsurprising when you look at his F1 career.

From reading around he's getting a lot of flak from actual Ferrari fans so if Ferrari plan to keep him it's in their interest to make excuses. I just see someone who is used to having the fastest car on the grid and can't cope with the pressure of intense competition from the likes of Hamilton.

Not with that spin he wouldn’t have.

wouldn't have been in that position to get spun out

Rule exists.
Driver breaks rule.
Driver penalised for rule break in line with other rule breakers this year.

But, somehow, apparently the rule breaker was in the right to break the rule and it's all so wrong....

if that was the case why did get 3 place pen instead of a reprimand???
