United v Arsenal **SPOILER**

no it wouldnt be intent but if you swung it at me but didnt hit then there was intent. If I pull out a gun in the street and go at someone just to scare them then i'd be locked up good and proper.

One of your players tried to take a lump out of ronaldo accordin ot the telegraph too but this pic shows Toure and someone infornt of him I can't make out aswell as Cole, Gilberto right next to him and Keown lookin over. Remember it on TV and he was standing a few feet from your players and Rio had to grab him and pull him back out as your players advanced on him.

Yeah Ronaldo shudnt have been there but teh camera's followed Ruud going down the tunnel (other end of the pitch) and then switched back to the Ronaldo incident so they weren't having a go a him still unless they think he can hear them from the dressing room.

Ruud should have got the yellow for the tackle, didnt see much dissent but There were a few bad tackles in the game and that was just one of them, other players ddnt react the way PV did. The one Keane got his yellow for wasnt nice. The one where Ljundberg and cole went off for a few seconds too. One on Fortune too but in all of those they let the ref do his job but PV gave the ref a differnt problem to concentrate on, sending him off.

Something else I didnt see on TV and god knows how many others there were at the end was.

Not too good with arsenal players but whoever that was needs finein/suspending just for that. Not a foul or game incident, just holdin his throat and duno what Cole is doing with his left arm either.

Duno what the fuss is about Arsene definding his player though. I would expect Fergie to do exactly the same in his shoes. I remember keane gettin sent off for a horror but Fergie defending him. Its part of a managers job. Its up to him to punish the player not the Daily Mail.

Hey we just agreed we weren't gonna argue anymore!!

That player infront of him is Edu, who was trying to calm him down but Ronaldo was pushing him, you can see it much more clearly from the angle they showed on the tele. Lauren is in big trouble though, seemed like he totally lost it......

btw who is Gergie ;)

Did he do it today?

Yes. We didnt see it, but jazz did, because he was watching via ArsenalCam™ by the company who brought you ArsenalTintedSpecs™ and Blindfolds in full Arsenal colours, as worn by Arsene Wenger during every single incident involving any of his players!

:p

Don't forget to add ArsenalCam damn cheap as well :D

1st half

cole seemed to handball it in the first half in the box from a ronaldo cross

giggs hit the post

ruud missed a header from 2 yards out hmmm

arsenals best chance being coles shot howard had covered that went wide

2nd half didnt watch much of but as keown didnt argue with the penalty id assume it was one but after that the arsenal players response was shockin, keown got ruud in the head with his arm, cole pushed him then about 4 other arsenal players were pushin ruud as well and then went after ronaldo

well done ruud for not nailin them

This thread seems to have ignored some scenes that I noticed - after the 2nd yellow, Vieira started to charge someone and I thought it looked like he pushed someone over, a brawl ensued and Vieira had to be escorted off the pitch by police. Then the cameras show Vieira running into the changing room, with two coppers running after him

In that same scene, Lehman was having a go at van Diveboy and had to be restrained by the linesman  I would have loved to hear what he was saying :D

Either way, the brawl after the final whistle, whilst entertaining, was also out of order. Esp. Lauren grabbing Neville's(?) throat and the ganging up on van Diveboy. I didn't see the Ronaldo scenes, though.

The far most entertaining thing, however, was the missed penalty - my mate goes "Lehman's gonna save it, or its gonna hit the crossbar or its gonna go out. No way is he going to score." Ball hits the crossbar, half the pub goes "yay" and I end up laughing my socks off.

There's also a tunnel incident at the end where Vieira had to be held back by people.

According the the witness "He went towards him and said he would really make contact this time and van Nistelrooy would know what it is like to be hurt. But he was held back"

I mentioned earlier in the thread about the vieira charging incident. I wanna know who it was at. He just ignored what the ref was saying and charged through the group of players pushing them out of the way, then escorted off the field by an official, a UTD security official and 2 police officers.

Lehmann pushed the linesman at one point in the PV sending off. Also in the build up the penalty thecrowd were cheering so he picked up the ball and booted it at the crowd.

Contact is the only thing that stopped it being a straight red. If he had of caught him he would have had a straight red with no complaints.

Now if Keane walked to vieira and went to punch him but pulled his fist back so he didnt actually hit him would the ref be able to ignore it, of course not. If you were in the match and Vieira kicked out at you you can't tell me you'd just stand perfectly still and do absolutly nothing. You'd jump back to get out of the way as all ruud saw was a foot coming at him. Then the look to the ref. What do you expect when someone's just kicked at you.

Ruud made a bad tackle which he rightly got a yellow for. Vieira should just let the ref do his job and punish him for it but he decided to kick out. Ther's no doubt he did kick out at him and that is not allowed, simple as. You can't have a rule that says you are allowed to kick out at players as long as you don't touch them.

All these so called incidents of Ruud kicking and Fortune etc. Strange how these only appear after close scrutenty of slow motion replays and such like. I'm sure if the whole match was done so minute-by-minute then as many would be from arsenal players as Man Utd players. Things like that happen in sunday league matches and they happen in premiership matches. They are part and parcel of a passionate game between two rivals.

BUT when it turns to 5 players confronting one player after the match has ended 'catching' him with his arm and at least two heavily pushing him and havin to be restrained by their own coaches then that has crossed the line. Ronaldo was too confronted by at least 3 players after Ruud walked away. He's 18 years old been in the country a month only played only 20 proffessional games for Sporting b4 joining Utd, and has to have a Brazilian coach on the bench as he can't speak English so what did he do exactly to justify 3 players kicking off on him.

Arsenal to their credit did play quite well in the match IMO. they did dominate patches for the play just as we did and their defence did well and stopped us scoring. they played for the point and got it so fair play to them. I just can't stand all these double standards and cheat claims.

I whole heartedly agree, how can anyone deny this post?

...

Ex-Ronin's point is a good one, no ones mentioned Vieira's behaviour after he was sent off, which was just as bad, and how Lehman left the field without even a booking baffles me, I saw him five or six times push players in the face and neck, which is definetly not Sporting Behaviour..

Gotta feel sorry for Ronaldo too, welcome to England mate, this is how our footballers behave..

Please...throughout this thread you've posted absolute CRAP. Even the Vieira incident you said he didn't even lash out...you've done nothing but be bias. Most other people have atleast tried, but you've acted like Wenger's twin brother.

Sorry but I haven't defended Paddy. He deserved the second booking. The first was the questionable as most people will agree.
I have posted a link to the Indepenant newspaper which claims Neville attemped to punch parlour. I've not claimed this. This also mentions Fortune's challenge on Lehmann.

Are you not biased then?

His first yellow was for a few fouls not the actual one he got carded for, when he got booked you see the ref point to different locations on the pitch, it was not the single foul he commited that deserved his first yellow but a string of them this was evident if you watched the match, I take it you only seen highlights?

Of course I saw the whole game.

Yes the ref booked him for several fouls, but the last one he got the ball!!
