University: where and what?

Ive just finished my second year at Wolverhapton Uni doing Early Primary Teaching. So basically after next year i will be teaching children between the age of 3 and 7 depending on where the school places me. I really want to teach reception. :)

The last year I've been in the first year of Maths at Cambridge. I really haven't enjoyed it, I've found practically all of it impossible, and I'm changing into 1st year Computer Science next year - actually really looking forward to that.

Exams in 3 weeks and hopefully I will just about do alright - I'm glad to be getting out of Maths, though. It's not that I don't like it, it's just that it's not really quite for me.
Stick me on MSN if you like and I'll help as much as I can - I remember not really enjoying the first year that much myself, and theoretically I should be able to do everything from IA... er... ;). Well, at least I'll be able to help with the applied stuff.

I'm knee-deep in revision myself but I'll try to do what I can. Alternatively I'm in the CMS practically every afternoon so you could just wander over and ask me a question - look me up on Facebook, I'm quite distinctive!

I'm in Birmingham, final year student doing BSc (Hons) Computer Networks for Business, I'm also doing CCNA, and have just signed up to do an additional 7 week course for HP on there Openview Network Node Manager software, which should gain me employment.

I've been here three years, I've spent loads of money, met some amazing people, done loads of crazy things, all of which were fun and none of which I'll forget. The best thing for me about uni (after the people) is the music, you accumilate so much of it at uni its unreal, I can pick any song I've discovered while I'm here and associate good memories with it, something I wont forget in a hurry.

I'm moving to SellyOak next year and becoming a proper brummie for a while, (originally I'm from the fens) And I'm living with 4 other loonatics who I've met through uni, its going to be awesome!

Uni rocks - I have no regrets.

First year ITO at University of Southampton.

Been a pretty damn good year, lots of fun. Although ive also had to work quite a bit, and weve been told our courses first year is a doddle so the next two could be... interesting.

Just gotta get all this coursework done now... :(

Same here except Civ Eng.

They've really piled on the coursework in the run up to exams, which I don't think is on personally, seeing as we had a 4/5 week dry spell a couple of months ago with no coursework at all.

Oh, how is that? I'm starting at same uni and same course this year!

Hey im also there at the moment just finishing first year. Its been good fun so far.. the work has been pretty decent. Enough not to get bored but not so much that you have no free time. So far I have found the programming and maths modules pretty easy. You will find the programming no problem if you have done much before.

Apart from those modules, CSC164 (Computer Architecture) has been quite a challenge, and im not much looking forward to the exam since its all memory stuff.
I hated CSC165, The IT Professional in Today's Society and wish it was replaced with a more technical module. Luckly nothing really follows on from this in the next couple of years and it gets more techy, so thats the last I have heard of it heh :P

Newcastle as a city rocks. Really good nights out and easy going/friendly people.

University of Bath: First year Chemical Engineering student (doing MEng and placement so 5 years in total).

I've really enjoyed my first year, just finished lectures yesterday. The 1st year has really gone quickly, but I've had a fantastic time, and it should be awesome living in our own house next year/semester.

The course has generally been good and I've found most of it fairly interesting, even if some lecturers/modules are a tad boring.

I've got exams starting on the 22nd, but being my lazy self I haven't started revision yet. :o

I skipped the uni malarky.

(IMO) Currently 3 years ahead of the rest that went their. Got a great paying job, company car and recently bought a house.

However i understand its a very enjoyable time of your lives getting ****** all the time etc etc and that there are certain jobs that require degrees etc. Mine (3rd line IT) didnt :p.

You can't generalise university like that. No doubt you're "three years ahead" of someone who went to an average university "for the sake of it", didn't do much work, and so on. Believe it or not, lots of us work hard and don't spend our time "getting ******".
