University: where and what?

At University of Birmingham doing Mechanical Engineering with Automotive, in 2nd year, hoping to take placement year next year as long as I actually find a job, else I'll do it between my 3rd and 4th years.

Just finishing my first year at Oxford Brookes doing motorsport engineering but I won't be returning. It's not for me!

I'm currently 3rd year (placement) BEng Mechanical and Automotive Engineering at Sheffield Hallam Uni. My plan is to get minimum of 2:1 (hopefully a 1st which is definately achievable) then either go straight on to a Masters course. Or, find a graduate placement where I can also study a Masters.

I'm also going to look at the possibility of doing a business degree of some sort after the masters.

Cheers,

Phill

I skipped the uni malarky.

(IMO) Currently 3 years ahead of the rest that went their. Got a great paying job, company car and recently bought a house.

However i understand its a very enjoyable time of your lives getting ****** all the time etc etc and that there are certain jobs that require degrees etc. Mine (3rd line IT) didnt :p.

Jon

Great! I wsh I was you! The AVERAGE graduate will earn far more over their lifetime than the AVERAGE non-graduate.

Less of the pointless uni-bashing would be a good thing. TVU has an excellent reputation for Nursing, as well as a couple of other courses.
Actually after looking at some league tables, it's not as far down as I thought. Some of the ex-polys are really good in some areas. I know Teeside has a great computer science department.

I'm extremely close to finishing Uni. Only an assignment and a half to write, no more lectures, then just wait for the results.
I'm doing Media Studies at Swansea, it was a huge mistake of mine and I can't wait to be rid of the place. :)

Going to Staffordshire Uni in the Autumn to do an Msc in Computer Games Design.

Last big push Haly, get it done! :D

I'm well on track with it :D And hopefully vying for a 2.1.
I'd have probably finished this weekend but I'm working all weekend so it'll have to be in the week :o

Masters in mechanical engineering at the university of sheffield

which makes me better than all of you don't ask why ive jsut decided it does :p

only joking im sure your all great

Loughborough Uni doing a masters in Mechanical Engineering. Currently in my 2nd year, might be sticking there at this rate as I'm not looking forward to the exams. I was intending to do a placement next year but havn't got very far yet, I have an interview on monday which I'm already dreading, oh how I hate them!

wow, so a lot of people at uni and doing a lot of different stuff. dunno why but when i joined the forum i thought everyone would be middle-aged guys (not that there's anything wrong with that). if you're like me you'll have tons of exams coming up so good luck with them all.

Lucky s.o.b. :( :p

On a side note, a majority of the people here seem to be doing some Computer related ;x Spose somewhat expected for a forum such as this :)

3rd year of Chemistry at Imperial. Subject absolutely drives me up the wall, just can't stand any of it now. After i've finished, any day I look at another organic reaction scheme will be a day too soon.

Just hoping I can somehow scrape a 2.1 or otherwise it will have been a gigantic waste of time.

If I get my grades, I'll be starting an Economics course at York/Durham (still can't decide) in October. I'm quite surprised to see no-one here at York at all!

Im off to Manchester uni to do Physics this september.

Cant wait, heard good things about the city and the university.

Alex

Doing Biology at Uni of Bristol with a subunit in microbiology.

Whyyyy did not one tell me it was going to be this hard? Oh well sod it, they arn't going to just give a degree away :p
