**Unofficial Tyre Thread**

Those sipes don't last long at all. I've a set with 6mm on and they are history.

In other news, starting to really hate on the RE070, just rubbish dry grip and getting understeer left right and centre. Seriously thinking of binning them even though there's good life in them.

Sadly Gibbo believes that the Mich SS are the best tyre for every car fitment ever, ;) when in reality, a 911 with MSS would behave differently to a Camaro with the same tyres. You'll own the car long enough to trial out a few different brands, stick it what works best. :)

I wonder what the reason behind that is?

err....wear :D

I've CS5ps in the rear and CS2 on the front. Happy chap at the mo with the way the car is handling. Getting my alloys powder coated and full refurb for £280 on Monday which will make me even happier :)

In other news my mates S2000 has FK452 on. What a horrific tyre! No grip and they are all over the place when it's warmer than 15C

There must be some mistake, the internet says FK452's are amazing tyres which offer stunning performance and are not bought because they are cheapo.

I know, Physics must have been having a bad day :(

Damn, that's cheap. That's my size. Maybe I'll try the F1A2s when my CS5s wear out, see how they compare.

This has probably been asked before but which ones have the stiffer sidewalls, does anyone know?

The F1A2 appears to 'change' pattern as it wears.

They proberbly design it to start with a great tread pattern that will top charts but then it wears away and by say 3mm it has dropped off considerably and you should replace it :P

(This is a joke).

Generally speaking I have found that Falken's designed by Falken to be a bit flaky, it's only the Falken's that are actually old Dunlop UHPs with Falken's name on them that seem to perform great.

Has any one got experience with the Dunlop Sport Maxx RT? I'll need new tyres in a few months but might fit them early as their wet performance looks very good and that is a bigger issue for winters in N.Ireland than snow and ice.

My car is a 2008 civic 2.2 currently with some bridgestones or michillens on the front cant remember but they are ok and have had no issues in the year that I've had the car. The backs are some crap no names that are just downright dangerous the back

ETA: tyres are 205 55 R16
