**Unofficial Tyre Thread**

Guys I need to buy some tyres for my 52 Focus 1.6.

It currently has absolutely awful Chinese tyres on but one has a slow puncture so a change is in order. Size is 195/60/15.

Any recommendations for what to go for? I'm not really clued up on what are the best tyres.

E39 wheels don't fit the E46 in a straightforward fashion?

I have spigot rings and they fit fine despite the low offset, I just won't be able to run anything over a 225 without looking moronic and rubbing like crazy. I'm not going silly low, just Eibach Sportlines on Sachs dampers.

Either way, any recommendations on tyres?

Anyone ever ordered from Lovetyres?

I've emailed them twice now asking about tyre availability and each time the automated response promises a reply within 8 hours. I've never yet had an actual reply

Are they this good at sending tyres, too?

I ordered a set of F1AS2 from them just over a year ago. I seem to remember ordering mid afternoon, with the tyres arriving the next morning. I had to call as I wanted the tyres sent to an address other than the card billing address but this was sorted fairly quickly.

A lot can change in a year though. Give them a call.

BBS make many of the alloys fitted to many BMW's from new

I was unaware that BBS made alloys that weren't the split rim/loads of spokes style, I stand corrected.

Edit: Ok just had a look at all the ones they do make, quite like a lot of them! Image had been tainted for me from the large amount of VAG cars owned by Barry that are adorned with the split rim style wheels.

Anyone recommend 185/65/14's for a 2002 Polo 9N 1.2?

Essentially looking for the cheapest good quality tyres I can get away with, that will last a decent period of time. (so may pay more if the tyres will last far longer etc)

Combination of town driving, country driving and motorway driving. Mostly country and motorway. I don't drive particularly fast (how could I? :D) but I do hoon it occasionally.

The wheels are currently 165's but i'm looking to replace them with 185's as that is apparently what the quicker Polo's have, so they should hang on better. (if you don't think its worth it and think a good set of 165's would be improvement enough, then say so. :))

Currently have mis-matched cheapo rubbish with varying states of wear. (bought like it) The car has broken grip while cornering a few times and I don't much like it.

I've ordered tyres from them before, arrived very quickly.

You probably won't like the Style 5s on my e46 then Voxination!

It is a shame that Barry and friends are slapping BBS a likes all over Golfs etc, but I quite like them on a BMW despite them being very marmite.

Still need some tyre advice though guys! :P

Ordered F1AS2's last month, and they arrived in good time. Equally as good as Camskill service I'd received in the past too. So I tend to opt for whichever is the cheapest!

After seeing the pics in the other thread I can confirm it's not to my liking :p It's your car though, so if you're happy then that's all that matters :)

Can't fault the F1A2's I'm using atm, they grip fantastically in the wet. Would highly recommend.

Can anyone recommend an alternative to Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2s? I can't find any stock of 205/40/17. The budget is ~£100
