**Unofficial Tyre Thread**

Very much enjoying the X5 on the Goodyear Vector 4 Season Gen3. Finally got to use these tyres in the conditions they were designed for and I highly recommend them for those travelling further North, or for general English winter weather.

The car felt incredibly sure footed through the 1 degC driving rain/sleet up through Perthshire, Aviemore and Glenlivet a few days ago.

I could easily get past groups of cars on the dualed sections on the A9 as most ambled along at 55mph.

What's the verdict?

PS5 or CSC7?
About to book in for two new rear tyres on the 440i.
The CSC5 run flats I have now are a little too loose on grip, and have not much tread left tbh.

Haven't tried the PS4's or 5's but they are highly regarded and both those and the CSC7's seem to be an extremely popular choice. In many tests I've read the CSC7's just pip the PS4's/5's in specific areas, but that could well be subjective.

Very happy with my CSC7's so far (M340i Touring). Will be interested to see what the longevity of them is. I would have went for PS4's but for Black Circles having an excellent deal on the Conti's at the time.

About 30 cheaper for the Conti on BlackCircles at the moment, the PS5 have a 10% discount.
Unsure if the £30 is best spent on the PS5 due to the lesser road noise and reported slightly longer longevity.

If you like driving your car at all hard, the PS5 are quite numb feeling.

Good grip, but numb.

I feel like people are confusing PS4S, PS4, and PS5. Michelins naming doesn’t help but the CSC7 is more comparable to the PS4S which is getting on now.

You've missed out on the Michelin Pilot Sport S5.

I have no complaints about my PS5's on my 428i. Very greasy out today with plenty of standing water and felt very sure-footed.

I've been using Goodyear Assy 5 for the last 5 years, grip and noise are great, wear could be better about 12k fronts and about 16k rears

Yep, CSC7 are a UUHP tyre, equivalent to Eagle F1 SuperSport and Pilot Sport 4S.

Pilot Sport 5, Asymmetric 6 are equivalent to Premium Contact from Continental (UHP Summer Tyres)

Competing with doesn't always mean made equal though, I'd love to see a test comparing the 4S and the Asy6.

I really think the Asy6 will stack up very well. For the money they're great.

Awesome. Beats it in most tests for a fraction of the price. :p
thing that irks me the most...tread depth
csc7 5.8mm
f1a6 6.4mm
mps4s 7.2mm

thinking of replacing my mps4s soon...i'm considering the f1a6, but longevity-wise, the michelins outlasts everything else

tyrereviews got you covered lol

CSC7 top spot again  Think I made the right choice.

Longevity and tread depth - will be interesting to see what mileage I get out of these, although it's low on my list priorities for a tyre, if they need replaced due to wear, then they get replaced.....cost doesn't concern me.
