I used to just go for a an hour or so drive, maybes a 50 mile round trip after getting new tyres. Some online say 100 miles but continental say more. They mention about squirm on new tyres too.How long does it take to scrub in some new tyres?
Drive home was exciting on the new contact sports 7 on the rear...
Few hundred miles usually. Don’t forget how cold it is, they aren’t magic tyres. How long does it take to scrub in some new tyres?

What car do you drive! Even the tyres on my 20" aftermarket RTR wheels for the Mustang were cheaper than that. Ouchy.£1007 for 4 PS4S's at Halfords, mobile fitted, not terrible.

Nice!! Ah yeah, an uncommon size will always screw you like.C63S, it's the back tyres that do me in. The front are fairly cheap, £220 a corner but the rears because they're wide and a not so common size, are £330
I could have saved about £120-150 by not getting the MO1 rated tyres, but...always get told by car YouTube videos to get the Merc rated tyres (if you have a Merc obviously), so I'm either a mug or well trained...
We've put the latest hankook kinergy all seasons on my dad's xc60. Been on 12 months just about. Been fab.Is there a consensus on the best three SUV tyres for an XC60? Looking at a 235/55/19 size. There's lots of tyres I've never heard of, amongst a few tyres I've heard of but that are 10 years old (F1A3, CSC5 etc).
I recently bought a new Bimmer. E92 330i. At some point I'm gonna need to put new tyres on it. The current ones are a bit suspect. The rears are Churchills. I'm not even sure what the front ones are.
BMW have told me the specs of the wheels and what tyres were factory fitted. The rears are 19" 9J with 255/30s on and the front 19" 8J with 225/35s.
There's lots of choice for the front (225/35R19) But hardly anything for the rears (255/30R19). eg, Michelin hasn't made a Pilot Sport S5, or even a PS5 in this size, even though they do a 4S. Neither have Goodyear made a F1 Asymetric 6. Is this a particularly uncommon tyre size?
It's not like I go hooning around. I drive on country roads a lot though. So I like a fair bit of grip. Am also interested in braking distances, noise etc over acceleration. The car has plenty enough of that.
+1Sport Contact 7 are available in both sizes. That would be my choice, as they’re a fair bit cheaper than the Pilot Sport 4S.
Don't the contis (in general) have a rep for wearing quickly?
TBH you can't go wrong with Michelin PS4 or PS4S or PS5, Conti Sport Contact 7's or Good year Eagle F1 Assy 6 I think it the recent ones.Just out of interest what in your opinion are the best summer tyres currently available in 165/65R15 and 185/60R15 sizes?
I’ve looked at the Michelin, Continental and Goodyear websites and the only summer tyres I can get in my sizes are the Michelin Primacy 4 the Continental UltraContact and the Goodyear EfficientGrip Compact or Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance.TBH you can't go wrong with Michelin PS4 or PS4S or PS5, Conti Sport Contact 7's or Good year Eagle F1 Assy 6 I think it the recent ones.
The Bridgestone Turanza T005 and Michelin Primacy 4 are probably the best bet in those sizes.I’ve looked at the Michelin, Continental and Goodyear websites and the only summer tyres I can get in my sizes are the Michelin Primacy 4 the Continental UltraContact and the Goodyear EfficientGrip Compact or Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance.
