Jesus Christ and people think EVs are heavy on tyres!. There is no way i could justify tyres which wear out that quickly, and even if super high performance i just do not think there is any need for such performance on our (terrible) roads.I think most new tyres aren't great. Expected life from the Asymmetric 6s on the 320d are 9-11k and that just does motorway miles.

it must cost you a bundle!

That seems really bad to the point I'd not buy them. I'll get at least 20k out of my current set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on the M340i. The original Bridgestone tyres lasted 15k.
Yep, I got around 20k out of my last MP4S tyres on my 435D before they hit the 3mm mark.
My current M440i has a set of Continental SC7's on & are wearing pretty well. Done around 6K so far & still look almost new.

Everyone in motors owns a Gucci belt, so the obvs answer would be to swap out the other tyre lol
Had the tyre replaced on the drive today.
Car has done 5500 miles roughly and the rears are on 4.7-4.9mm tread.
I'm in two minds whether the other rear needs doing as 7.2mm vs 4.7 is reasonably large, but at £300 a tyre it seems crazy to spend £650 due to a flat tyre.
What would motors do?

Cutting it a bit close - the manufacturers generally don't recommend more than 2mm of tread difference on the same axel.
Is there such a thing as a single wheel burnout?
Assuming you'd replace the tyre at 3mm and a new tyre is 8mm you're not really wasting £300 you're just bringing forward the spend. The extra money spent over just waiting is the value of the 1.7mm of usable tread you're effectively giving up.
This is what, a third of the usable tread so £100 or so?
How are these tyres £300 each? My Pilot Sport 4S are the same size as yours if this is a 320d and I've never spent anything like that much on a single tyre. The Goodyear tyres are usually cheaper than Michelin as well.
What size is the tyre?
