**Unofficial Tyre Thread**

After some new tyres for a Ford C max. It is currently fitted with 225 40 18 Nexen tyres on the front and sport contact 3 on the rear.

I have found the following which all seem okay. Happy to look at other tyres but dont want to spend more that £90 a corner.

Goodyear Eagle f1 Asy 3 XL - 87.73
Pirelli P6 Cinturato XL - 87.56
Avon ZZ5 XL - 74.56
Avon ZV7 XL - 74.56

The Goodyears although the correct size don't come as recommended for the car when I search my reg number - any reason and general thoughts?

Thanks.

Needing to change the tyres on the Qashqai.

National tyre are selling 2 Avon ZX7 XL fully fitted for £187.98 how do these compare to the standard issue Conti Premium Contact 2 @ £271.17 fully fitted?

Thanks

Not sure what the "Oh"'s are for, the Dunlop is a much better tyre than the others on the list, and on a CMax I highly doubt the difference between it and the Goodyear will be noticeable.

Bit of a pointless post, ask for advice then get something different. That's all

Didnt know the C-max didnt use tyres to stop in the rain, as this is where Goodyears will shine

TBF the RT2 is a very good tyre. It does get overshadowed by the other big companies though. The RT was meant to be good too, but had high wear rates.

Asked for advice - could not get the tyres I thought so went for those with similar performance. From all accounts the difference is going to be rather minimal.

Came to use the car this morning and have a completely flat front - must have been a slow puncture from last weekend and the air is just coming straight out when I tried to pump it up :(

Both fronts have about 4mm left on them and are currently PZeros.

Seems to be that Goodyear AS3 or Michelin PS4 are the ones to go for - is replacing the pair advised at this tread level? Which would be the better choice between the two? They are 255/35R19

Cheers

PS4S are the ones to get, not PS4.

Change both, a P zero mixed with a Michelin sounds a nightmare under hard braking
