Upcoming Concerts

haha sounds like I got a lucky escape, turned down seeing these in Leeds. (although i do love wrecking bar and if you wanna).

Going to see Beady Eye, can't remember the date, 20 something April:cool:

Definite lucky escape. Hopefully nabbing a ticket for The View tomorrow night and got Beady Eye later in the month so that should make up for it!

Haven't got any money at the moment which is really annoying because The Ghost Inside and Comeback kid are playing together, and The Acacia Strain are playing this month! :(

Saw Horslips (accompanied by the Ulster Orchestra) in the Waterfront Hall on St Patricks night, was very good indeed, tickets were free which made it even better!

Eric Clapton will be in the Odyssey, Belfast on 10th May, so will probably go along and see him...

Saw EC last night in the Odyssey, Belfast, was an excellent show, he played the following:

01. Key To The Highway
02. Going Down Slow
03. Hoochie Coochie Man
04. Old Love
05. I Shot The Sheriff
06. Driftin'
07. Nobody Knows You When You're Down And Out
08. Still Got The Blues (Gary Moore)
09. Same Old Blues (JJ Cale)
10. When Somebody Thinks You're Wonderful
11. Layla
12. Badge
13. Wonderful Tonight
14. Before You Accuse Me
15. Little Queen Of Spades
16. Cocaine
17. Crossroads

Every song was performed very well, especially good was "I shot the sheriff", "Old Love", "Badge", and "Crossroads"

I saw him back in 1983 at the National Stadium in Dublin, but last night's show was certainly better!

Off to see these guys again:

This will be the third time we've seen them now :D

The Chilli's in November at the SECC. Considering getting tickets to Alison Krauss and Union Station but it's very expensive at £37.50. I don't think I want to spend that much money to go and see a gig by myself (none of my pals have good taste in music!) and be sitting down.-

Sonea, Glasgow meet? ;)

Should be a good concert :)

We paid more than that to see *cough* Neil Diamond *cough* in Newcastle a few years back - I suppose you have to weigh up the pros and cons. We knew it would be highly unlikely we'd get too see him play in the UK again so we paid. I think you've also got to draw a line somewhere as well though - as much I wanted to see Eric Clapton play the SECC a few months back I refused to pay the asking price of £60.00+ for tickets!

I'd love to, unfortunately my good lady and I will be in the land of the sheep (Wales not Aberdeen) the weekend you're holding the meet for a wedding. Wish you guys (and girls) all the best at the meet, have a good time and hopefully we'll make the next one

Ages since you posted this but went to see Eric Clapton when he played my school hall a few years back. :D Just thought I'd drop that in, dmpoole style.

And off to see RHCP at the O2 in November, never been so hopefully the sound is better than I've heard.

Yeah, really looking forward to it. I've never seem then before but they have been up there as one of my favourite bands ever since I got into music. Expensive, but I hope it's good. Even though it's a different guitarist I'm sure it'll still be great.

Yeah, I'm not sure how often they'll do a UK tour but at the time being I really can't afford it. I may treat myself after I get paid. However, going to a 'sit down' kind of concert alone might just be a bit boring. I'm not sure that they are worth the cost, but it's the venue that is pushing up the price more than the artist I believe.
Bob Dylan and Mark Knopfler are playing together at Braehead in October, I'd love to see them but at £70+ quid (then factor in pints at £4+ each!) I really can't justify it. And, Braehead is rubbish. It's one of those things, like you say, how much is it worth it? It'll easily be £100 all in, I think I'd rather buy a nice bottle of whisky for £30 and listen to their CDs!

No problem, thought I'd mention it anyway! Maybe another time. Have a good wedding.

Seen Mark Knopfler twice now, once at the playhouse and again at the SECC, swore I'd never go back to the playhouse as it's far too small and the seats were so uncomfortable for a sit down venue. Having said that the man is a legend and I'm a huge fan. I'd go see him again but, like you not at £70.00+ per ticket

I'd also agree with your sentiments on the Braehead Arena, we saw Marilyn Manson there (yes I have a very diverse taste in music) a few years back and it was the only concert I've been to where I got searched for weapons before entering!

I can thoroughly recommend this whisky, my personal favourite. And it comes in around your budget - enjoy :D

I went to Scala lastnight to see Trail of Dead and maybeshewill.

Not bad. Went because of maybeshewill, so didn't know what to expect of Trail of Dead, instrumental they're good but i have no idea what they were singing and shouting about.
