Upcoming Concerts

I saw Apocalyptica doing their 20th Anniversary of their debut at the Southbank Centre in London. It was a really great show. They did 2 parts, the first part was the entire debut album, and the second set was just a heck of a lot of Metallica songs. I really enjoyed the set and I must also say that the guys in Apocalyptica have a awesome sense of humour as well.

Now I'm looking forward to the 17th and 18th of March to see Devin Townsend at Hammersmith in London and Rock City in Nottingham :)

And then I'm going to see Ghost the weekend after that in London.

In the weekend I've seen Devin Townsend twice, first at Hammersmith in London on Friday and then at Rock City in Nottingham on Sunday.
I can't do anything else than praise this guy, he is simply an amazing artist. On Friday he did first his Ocean Machine album in it's enterity to celebrate it's 20th year anniversary (and probably as a warm up for the gig in Plovdiv in September).
The athmosphere was great, the backdrop was simple but really good, and he is a brilliant frontman, really able to wrap the crowd around his fingers. He did finish the gig with 3 songs from the latest album.

On the Saturday gig in Nottingham there was to expect a completely different setlist and he did really bring a good set with him. A wide range of songs from many albums and style of the songs. And a great great banter from the stage. He makes jokes, he is sometimes serious and he does indeed take the **** out of himself at times, but the crowd loves it (and him). I love to see his gigs and I really can't wait to go to Plovdiv in September to see him again :)

Last weekend I did see Steve 'N' Seagulls.. Such a wonderful great fun it is to see them play. The crowds are only a few hundred people but it is such a party athmosphere :)

And the other day I did order tickets to go see Anathema and Alcest in Prague in October :)

I've never seen Anathema, I've been getting into in the last year or so and since then they haven't played in the UK (except from opening up to Opeth in November last year but I couldn't get the time of work to go see them that time).
Alcest I did see in November (or if it was October?) last year but they are worth seeing again as I do really love their music. And combining two bands with my favorite city in the world is going to be a win-win situation :)

I never thought it was going to happen - in fact drunkenly lamenting it's unlikeliness just last week - but Jawbreaker announced today they have reunited after 20 odd years and are playing a one off show at Riot Fest later this year. Off to Chicago I go!

So yesterday i was up working in Bellshill when one of the lads mentioned Maiden were playing at glasgow - had a quick look and found tickets were still available. Wasnt sure whether to go or not but in the end thought why not! Another great show.
