urgent help on 1st build!

OK, after a few days, OcUK have finished the testing, and the PSU has been REPLACED!!

hopefully it was faulty, and the cause of all the issues. It should be with me on monday!

Excellent!

Pretty unusual for a PSU to be dead on arrival, but stranger things have happened.

Here's to the system beeping into life on Monday :D

in regards to the motherboard, I sent them a second webnote, and I got a reply saying they'd be happy to offer me a partial discount on a new one. However, rather than wait for the reply (because it could have possibly been saying nothing doing) I went and bought the new motherboard.

I sent a new webnote to that nice man in technical support, but still no reply lol.

I've came in a little bit late havn't I?

Alas, I had the same problem as you, press the power button sounds like it will start then poof dead. My psu had a surge/spike or whatever of electricity and pretty much nailed the psu. Had to replace the psu... as you're doing.

Hope everything goes all right for you! :)

lol...well, the PSU never arrived, which is suprising considering OcUK shipped it on saturday.

It'll probably arrive tomorrow then, but if it doesn't then some poor bloke on the end of a phone line will get the short end of the stick i'm afraid.

I will definately keep you all updated.

IT WORKED IT WORKED IT WORKED!!!!!!!

The new PSU arrived, I stuck it in, built the PC again and BAM! it was working 100%!!!

I'm installing windows as we speak...oh man...this has been a totally epic experience for me, and i'm giddy with elation right now lol.

All you guys that helped me out with this, you are the best ever, and you are just a complete bunch of legends!

What a wonderful milestone for me and my life...it's absoloutely fantastic.

Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou!!!

Excellent news :D Glad to have helped and dead pleased we got a happy ending on this one. Pretty surprised it was the PSU.

Frustrating to have to wait so long, but in a way it must make having it working even better. Enjoy :D

What a great thread guys. Good to see you all chipping in to help the lad.

Firstly , well done Minato. You did very well. I was going to say something about learning from each build but after re-reading the whole thread im sure you learned more than you bargained for . . .. lmao.
Great to see you kept on with the rma's as well. You know many men would have just given up and probably accepted defeat at some stage. Im glad you never m8.

Now , just enjoy the system buddy.

McstylisT :p

I definately can't thank you guys enough for all your kind words, and I'm posting from the system as I type!

it's absolutely fantastic, although I haven't had a chance to test it in any games yet, but i'll get around to it soon enough =)

The build has taken exactly 26 days...not bad...considering I had meant to start with two! lol!

Hello Minato, Sorry to hear of all your troubles although you happy now.

I just wanted to comment on the whole thread....

you said one of the pins was a bluish colour!!!
NOW for everyone still reading, could this not have been due to some sort of short! or overvoltage caused by a faulty PSU, infact overclockers did confirm the PSU as faulty!!

Some might say well then that would have taosted the CPU, maybe so but the CPU is still working!
so then does this not prove the pin was faulty before a cpu was fitted ?
Or caused by the tested as (faulty) PSU

Not all will agree im sure, but just my 2 pence worth.

All in all im happy everyone was here to help and that you finally are up & running
I wish you the best of luck :)
