Try removing all the cables connections from the bottom-right white area (F_PANEL). Then just reconnect the power switch. See if it turns on properly then.

clear Cmos by jumping the pins with a screwdriver, would that be ok?
just while im taking a break from painful extraction...what if i remove the heatsink to find no bent pins or anything. what would the next step then be?
