lol my next day delivery hasnt arrived today, its been in the local depot yesterday night and all day today as they havent attempted to deliver it i dont have a calling card which means i cant go to the depot and pickup the item direct from them. Heres the good bit the depot in less than 1/2 a mile from my house

Still waiting 2nd day now for 2 parcels from ocuk. Bugger is, I've seen 2 of their vans out and about today near me. One was sitting outside a burger van 2mins from me. Read on their website about the weather issue but it's been fine at their southampton depot from what i've seen and down here in portsmouth.

DPD is definitely the worst delivery company in UK. Every single time I have problems with them (never had any problem with other delivery companies). Weather was good enough for the item to be delivered to the depot in Southampton but not good for delivery in Portsmouth? The weather is clear with no signs of snow anywhere. Lame excuses from a lame company.
I'm sorry but that just isn't true. Every major courier is experiencing huge delays in deliveries. It's the weather, not a conspiracy. Nobody wants delivery delays - us, the couriers or you, but right now they are unavoidable for many.

I've had deliveries from DHL and Home delivery network this week, with no problems.

DPD are a mess!

Yes there is a backlog, yes theres bad weather in some parts of the Uk but while other companys have struggled along DPD have made a complete pigs ear of the whole thing and managed to drag out the mess for weeks, passing the nightmare onto customer after customer, regardless of them having bad weather in their area or not.

They have obviously gotten greedy and taken on so much they were probably operating on thin ice before the xmas rush and bad weather came along.

I will be staying well clear of them in future, as-well as any company affiliated with them.

I disagree with you completely petegtx. The snow last week, got stuff from OcUK next day. UPS took an extra day, UKMail took an extra 2 days. Royal Mail took an extra week (at least!) and I get a LOT of deliveries. Everyone else is having the same problems.
as for greedy and taken on too much? Its CHRISTMAS!!!! EVERY delivery company is running beyond full stretch.

i have nothing useful to add other than that i'm also in the 'awaiting delivery' gang. but it makes me feel better to know that there's a fair few others in the same boat :D

delivery a week before Christmas, worst cold snap for years. what were we thinking! :D

joining the awaitng delivery club :)

mines been sitting at the sorting hub for 2 days with no movement.

but i can understand where dpd are coming from, their depots are flooded with parcels they obviously dont want to be piling more ontop of already undelivered parcels. i'd imagine mine will move to my local depot at some point over the weekend once they have their feet clear.(hopefully)

wonder how this affects the 7 days DSR rules(although not applicable to me i know theres a few chaps keen to return their his 6970's

Fair enough, you may have got stuff next day, but most people didn't! And are still waiting!

....and I realise its CHRISTMAS!!!! My point was, DPD were so stretched BEFORE xmas, as soon as there was bad weather it became a crisis.

Defend them all you want, this thread more than a few pages long. There are delays with other couriers but they have dealt with it far more professionally, ie answering phonecalls/webnotes/updating tracking etc etc...

DPD have had my delivery for 7 days with the Maidstone depot on there front page showing a 1 day delay all week!!

Phoned this morning and spoke to employee who said he would try to get it on the delivery for today but no luck :(

hmm heavy snow predicted tonight for the south :/ not gonna see these cards anytime soon :P

I'm thinking of just going to the depot with some ID and my address on a bill to collect my stuff, has anyone done this. I know your supposed to have a missed call card but thats not gonna happen.

My new 6870 been sitting in the depot for 2 days now so I guess im in the "awating delivery" club. Was dispatched lunchtime on wed from OCUK but im not expecting it before Christmas. I ordered knowing that there would be problems with delivery so not overly fussed as long as I get it eventually.

I assume that distance selling gets are able to take these delays into account not that I expect to have to send it back!

All these people raging behind their desks because there is no snow in their street therefore DPD must deliver their parcel as priority need to get a gip and realise they are NOT the centre of the universe. Its christmas chill out

That's crazy talk, I want my monitor now! :p

obv DPD is owned by an nvidia fanboy,

seems to be lots of 69xx's stuck in sorting hubs.

this way they stay a paper launch as no-one bar the courier gets them :)
