US election 2012

Here is a few statistical fact I've picked up last 24 hours.

Whites are shrinking by 2% every 4 years.
Latino are groaning by 2 % every 4 years.
By 2050, whites will be a minority in the US.
Historically over 80% of blacks votes for Democrats, even for Clinton and Kerry.
Over 70 % Hispanics voted for democrats this time
Asians votes for democrats are 50% more than republicans.
55% of women votes for democrats vs 45% for republicans, that's a 10% gap.
Majority of republican voters are middle age, white and middle class, they are not getting younger.

Basically, it seems that if the republicans do not change their policies in a big way, they will become extinct in a generation.

Whites in the US are only shrinking as a percentage, they've increased but only a by like 1% I think. You should be more worried about whites becoming a minority in Europe thus a global minority. The massive difference in birth rate and mass immigration will see to this.

Hate to break it to you but Whites are already are a global minority, always have been since the first hominids.

Current global white population is around 5%, and reducing. Go get your KKK costume and go protest...

I'm not surprised you would 'Dare' suggest this considering some of the other pathetic posts I've seen from you regarding race

This whole trying to paint me out to be some EDL member is getting boring now. Your username suits you well.

P.S. For everyone else C.R.A.Z.Y thinks I'm a racist because I had the temerity to question the MOBOs selection policy, apparently that puts me on a kilter with Nick Griffin :D

Now that we have the ability to travel further than our ancestors, we've started mixing up the gene pool, which is starting to reduce the distinctiveness of all the ethnic groups.

Why should he be worried?

He might be different of course: the rest of us think you're a racist because you keep making racist posts.

On the Newsnight American election special it said the Latino vote was a crucial factor and Romney alienated them. Also his stance on abortion alienated the women's vote. It also said his pitch was to white voters which in a country where the white voter is declining is bad strategy.
His attempt to bribe the elctorate with big tax cuts and spend hugely on the military while reducing the deficit did not ring true with economists.

The most gorgeous woman I know is half white half Chinese, bring on the mixing!!

A couple of points.

1. Any discussion about whites becoming a minority in the USA is hilariously stupid from the onset - the native people of that continent are not white, all it means is the average skin tone of the nation is becoming closer to that of the people who first inhabited it.

2. Who cares what skin colour a population becomes, I'm far more concerned with various cultures which actually have a impact on integration/social cohesion.

Nothing bugs me more than fat stupid white Americans (who are all immigrants not that many generations back) complaining about immigration & too many people of different races "invading" the nation which they stole to begin with.

The most gorgeous woman I know is half white half Chinese, bring on the mixing!!
:D - why people seem to care so much what pigment skin a society has in 500 years is beyond me (comment not aimed at you btw :)).

Romney's victory website goes live by accident:

For a brief moment on Wednesday, US websites reported that a draft version of his transition site was accidentally published on romney.solutionstreamcreative.com, and featured a photograph of the Republican candidate looking into the distance below a logo of the "Office of the President-Elect".

"I'm excited about our prospects as a nation. My priority is putting people back to work in America," Romney was quoted as saying on the homepage, according to screenshots captured by the Political Wire blog.

This is what happens when you believe your own propaganda for too long:

Mitt Romney was "shellshocked" at losing the presidential race, an adviser tells CBS News.

"They thought intensity and enthusiasm were on their side this time -- poll after poll showed Republicans were more motivated to vote than Democrats - and that would translate into votes for Romney. As a result, they believed the public/media polls were skewed -- they thought those polls oversampled Democrats and didn't reflect Republican enthusiasm. They based their own internal polls on turnout levels more favorable to Romney. That was a grave miscalculation, as they would see on election night."

Said the adviser: "We went into the evening confident we had a good path to victory. I don't think there was one person who saw this coming."

Another staffer added: "There's nothing worse than when you think you're going to win, and you don't. It was like a sucker punch."

It beggars belief that the Republicans could be so blind.

As early as July, Nate Silver was saying Obama had a 66% chance of winning via the electoral college (this had increased to >90% by late October). Republicans spent the first half of this year trying to paint him as a shill for the 'liberal mainstream media', which they accused of pro-Obama bias. They poured millions of dollars into their massive corporate media spin machine (enthusiastically supported by Fox News) which hit overdrive during the last four months.

Yet their accusations were misplaced, for the mainstream media had predicted a close contest (based largely on the opinions of pundits and predictions about the popular vote) while Nate Silver and his fellow number crunchers said Obama would win by a substantial margin. They were right. The mainstream was wrong, and so were the Republicans.

I think it's largely a side effect of the "Fox news effect". If your information sources all share your views, you get a warped sense of reality and a nasty feedback loop of self-congratulation.

Of course you could also call it the internet effect. These days we can all spend our lives seeking information which appeals to us rather than broadens our experience of the real world. So reality can sometimes take us by surprise.

One of the reasons I like the OcUK forums is that you get a pretty broad cross section of views and experiences... albeit views a bit skewed to the geeky side. :-)
