with the help of a mate hes trying to convince to go cossie and reckons he could get 400bhp out of it without breaking open an engine but he insists it will be rebuilt prior to putting in and says it would run 350bhp all day long.

He's trying to convince himself I think!

No! A Cossie YB engine will not "Run 400 - 350 all day long" - without being opened (bar byitself!) , well, it might, as long as you spend all night putting it back together again.

As for your "plan" -

You appear to have spent the last 2 years dreaming about cars you can't afford, while running an R Reg ford galaxy.

And now you've bought a stolen Sierra Cosworth with no engine it.

Can i be the Second to say WTF ???

Well I'm with you with a 3rd "WTF" anyway... ;)

The OP needs to re-think or stop thinking, not sure which.... :D

you stalking me? ;)

never owned a galaxy, someone elses.

seriously considered the kit car idea and spent 6 months researching it and talking to suppliers etc - lot more than on the internet. ;) months before asking you lot. ;)

other ones were just curiosity. i get ideas of the internet but as i don't know any of you guys i go away to ask real people and research it. simples. ;)

monaro/bmw z4/boxster i could afford outright but bought a house instead which made them null and void lol.
XR2i - have you seen how much XR2s are now!? they're next to go up... ;)

thinking is cheap. ;)

when i don't think is when it costs money. :p

the cossie i bought coz the bodywork seemed sound (apart from small finger size hole in sill and finger size hole in boot - which has been verified by a mate who used to build XJ220s etc ;) ) and if i broke it it would be worth more money so i wouldn't lose on it as it were.

so you spent 6 months researching kit cars, only then to not buy one and instead bought a stolen cossie with no engine?

and if the plan is to break it and make money on it, why are you even considering ruining it by putting a Rover V8 in it ? Can't you see that's sacrilege ? Any value the car has amongst the RS community will completely disappear when you put a Rover V8 in it.

Daft plan is Daft !

Stop being silly. Do yourself a favor and buy something like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/sierra-coswor...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c1b712328

Crack out the tools, hire an engine crane, stock up on beer, invite over a few mates and stick it in over a weekend. Get the sill and wing sorted, smoke around it in for the summer and if you really feel like doing some stupid with it do it over the autumn/winter months. At least enjoy the car a bit before looking to invest shed loads of time, energy and money.

lol, fantastic ownage there. He's clearly quite a story teller - why would he ask us about all those cars if he apparently cant afford to insure the £1500 shed he has just bought?

I'm lost, what can't he afford to insure? The Sierra with no engine?

edit: Secondly, you are asking in the wrong place. It is/was quite predictable where this thread would go, ask on Retro Rides and you are likely to find people who have done it replying rather than people just picking holes.

Yeah, he wanted to insure the shell but said he couldn't afford it. Problem is on OcUK, you have a lot of practical and realistic posters. So pie in the sky fantasists tend not to get too much support. Retro Rides is a great forum, other than it's "No negative posts" rule which means dreamers over there get the answers they want to hear.

Is it really fair to waste everyones time on RR with this?

Look at that massive list of threads MrLOL posted. He's got his head in the clouds, Corvettes, Audi TT's, BMW Z4's, then he ends up with a Ford Sierra without an engine he tells us he cannot afford to insure.

Now suddenly its going to have a V8? Yea right.

It's either delusion or a massive windup.

Helpimcrap, please stop posting these pointless what car threads. If you post another thread like this I will suspend you for spamming the forum with aimless questions designed just to waste peoples time!

Isn't that the point of forums? Questions and discussion?
Ok the idea that helpimcraps threads are NOT actually ones for information to buy needs to be clarified by him, but to say that general information threads are not allowed would be terrible imo.
