VEGA IS FINALLY HERE, ITS IN STOCK ALONG WITH SOME EPIC BUNDLES & FREESYNC DEALS!!

We'll get shafted, that's what :D

But seriously, everyone will gravitate towards the cards with better warranty imo. Or rather those in the know.

All EU legislation will be converted into UK law. Can't see consumer law being watered down, not much of of vote winner. So the two year warranty enchrined in law will stay.

Any issues, the small claims court is your friend.

The warranty is the least of my worries.

When we leave the customs market I'm worried about having to pay customs duty/tax of components bought from the rest of Europe, which will kill dead any bargain hunting in Amazon Germany's marketplace, for example.

The EU is protectionist at its very heart, it's anti competitive in its very nature. Look outwards, rather than inwards. That's where the real growth lies.

Wondering.. keep my order for 2 Vega's for 450 each, or cancel and get a 1080ti. Considering some mining but don't see much evidence to the initial 100 mh rumours :/

If you decide you dont want either don't cancel, supply to those who missed out (and yes one of them would be me)

It can certainly get worse - the DRAM shortage (which was meant to have eased up by now, but has in fact gotten worse) is set to drive up graphics memory prices higher, and SSD prices aren't forecast to return from their highs until next year. DDR4 was already expensive early this year, and has only become worse. The £ could get even weaker and who knows what'll happen to trade tariffs after Brexit. On top of that all - cryptocurrency mining could become even more attractive.

What i would say is regardless of where people buy these cards from, check the warranty. 1 particular etailer is offering a pathetic 1 year warranty on the aio Powercolor card. When asked about this their response was:

Which makes zero sense as ocuk have the same card with a 2 year warranty.

Interestingly, that particular retailer offers 3 years on the Sapphire AIO, vs OCUK's 2 years. Hmm.

Wouldn't surprise me to find all Vega 64 AIO's have 3 year warranties tbh, I may clarify with Sapphire.

Would be funny if so, as OcUK and AMD missed out on a sale by offering a crummy 2 year warranty on such an expensive card. Now I have lost interest.

Looks like Jayztwocents isn't amused with the whole Vega thing.

"I've been thinking about this @AMD Vega price increase and the position they put us reviewers in... I no longer recommend Radeon."
They never once mentioned a "coupon" and they clearly chose a deceptive marketing strategy with regards to reviewers.
For this very reason, I will no longer accept any RADEON product for review and will purchase my review samples for their graphics reviewsBut I will wait at least 1 month post launch to attempt to buy. I had high hopes @AMD would take the high road this time, but clearly not"

Not recommending is perhaps going over the top, but that's each to their own.
But if he's going to do that, why buy the items & then review them? (Well, apart from for the views to get money...).
Wonder if this'll change his Threadripper build getting used /shrugs.

He's ranted about nvidia before, but still pushed them.

It's almost certainly going to get weaker. Worse case is the UK becomes Europe's bargain holiday destination because of the strength of the EURO over the Pound, where Germans and French and other Europeans with a bit of money flock to the UK en masse because of the cheap prices

The old will still vote for the Tories though hey...

I would check with the manufacturer. Ocuk have been known to put the wrong info on the website and then try to wriggle out of it when actual RMA's come in. (Or take screenshots and pay by credit card so you have another resolution path if push comes to shove)

He wants to buy and review to try and make the review as fair as possible. Dont forget Jay was one of the guys who was sent ryzens and vegas for review and he had those reviews ready for when the embargo lifted. Those reviews like every other review ended with a conclusion based on the performance and the price and we all know what happens to the price post-launch.

Buying the card after launch stops AMD doing that. I think that's about as far as Jay can be - refusing to review anything AMD isn't a solution.
