VEGA IS FINALLY HERE, ITS IN STOCK ALONG WITH SOME EPIC BUNDLES & FREESYNC DEALS!!

Pretty honest of Jay doing that, missing out on views for a more fair review a few weeks after release and purchasing products yourself can't be easy, considering money earned from YouTube has gone down the toilet, unless you can spam out videos daily that get hundreds of thousands of views.

Honest my ####, nvidia have done this before, nvidia even lied about card specs and only fessed up when caught out, but nvidia sponsor jay and jay defended nvidia about lying about specs by saying well its good enough. Did jay say do not buy nvidia products, did he say he would refuse nvidia samples that he can keep, did he hell. But this happens with vega and suddenly its do not buy radeon, not do not buy vega at inflated prices but do not buy radeon. And then with that further down his tweeter link he then goes on with well threddripper looks bad now too.

So ye, his whole 'beef' and i put 'beef' in quotes on purpose cos i dont think he even has a beef and only profiting off this situation is all based on deception and how you cannot trust a company who decieves.

So the sep price, which is Suggested price is off because its introductory, bad, should have said, so ye bad amd, bad. Now the actual specs of a gpu you lie about is what you sell the card on, not the price of the card but the actual reason your buying it for, your using it to judge against competitors products, you lie about that. Which is worse.

Jay said the 970 was still a great card and it was - the performance and the price didnt change. He said people were right to be angry about the 3.5gb/4gb screw up and he said the 970 would last a good while which it has. The only thing he got wrong as fair as i know is he said it was the first time nvidia segmented the ram on a card like that - it wasnt.

Who cares if it was a great card, it could give you quickies under the table for all i care, this is about deception. Nvidia lied, it wasnt a screw up, ye think jimmy tong on production line 3 accidently did that to the memory. So its double standards.

Edit, and not mentioning its an introductory price is one thing, but lying about card specs is on a whole dif level. If they lied about the 970 and only fessed up when caught how do we know that all the specs nvidia give out are true, outside of nvidia techs is there many people who can even check every spec that nvidia state.

at the time i bought a pair of 970's for sli, didn't care if nvidia lied or not but at the time i was a bit miffed at the way nvidia handled it after, they just buried there head in the sand and waited for it to pass over, thankfully ocuk stepped up to the mark and refunded anyone that was not happy

I'm not getting in to this, it's been done a million times already. Nvidia were wrong not to disclose the real configuration of the card. Nobody disagrees with that.

Nah thats not what im on about, im not doing the whole 970 fight thing, im on about jay having double standards, not that anyone needs to defend nvidia anymore, at the same time no one needs to defend amd, we are all grown ups and we can take a review and then use that information for an informed choice, we dont need our hands holding and told what to buy.

From what Jay said on Linus' LAN show it's not just about the price discrepancy, reviewers had to work the weekend because they believed they were just receiving the 64 and then a 56 appeared on their doorstep Friday morning along with the 64, he's annoyed at how controlling they are on reviewing and just using them to market their cards, they can't even do proper unboxings or anything as they receive the cards in bog standard packaging. He was also critical of nVidia on that podcast, I agree on your point on him saying "Do not buy radeon" that's a bit of an overexggeration, but I can see why he wants to just review the cards in his own time and at his own cost tbh.

ow didums for them, bo ho. This is how it rolls, nvidia lie on spec sheets, tut tut but there still great cards, intel bend over everyone and its lol them intel boys but they make good products, amd state a sep price and then price goes up, KILL THEM, BURN THEM WITH FIRE!!!!.

Edit, ow and for them not being a marketing extention, do they think companys give them pretty things for the jollys, seriously.

Anyone with any common sense should criticise any manufacturer who use anti consumer practices. Never understood the whole affection thing that surrounds Nvidia and AMD. They both want your money, give it to the one that best suits your needs, rather the one that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy.

Totally agree. Being blinkered by any technology company is mental. They all want your money, none of them are out to do you any favours.

What other conclusion should people draw? People were going nuts about the 970 only having 56 ROPs as well but it made ZERO difference to the performance because we already knew what the performance was. There were some games which stuttered on release but as far as i recall it was all addressed, including Shadow of Mordor which Jay mentioned in his 970 as having issues. i had that running at 60fps silky smooth and registering 3.9gb usage. THAT's what mattered to me. Not the technical details, but the price and performance of the card and that's all that should matter today.

I thought you didnt want to get into it but ok, its about if you can trust what a company says isnt it, and i dont care what price something is when the review is done, i want to know what price something is when im watching that review, and this wierd thing called the internet lets me compare prices across stores. So im way more interested that the specs which are stated are TRUE and what performance it does.

It's almost certainly going to get weaker. Worse case is the UK becomes Europe's bargain holiday destination because of the strength of the EURO over the Pound, where Germans and French and other Europeans with a bit of money flock to the UK en masse because of the cheap prices

The old will still vote for the Tories though hey...

oh please. BBC propaganda got to you didnt it?

It's a brand new lineup that's just launched - you watched the reviews when the card launched, the same as the rest of us. So i dont see how that's applicable in this case.

regardless, i've said my bit. I dont believe people should get hung up on technical details but you are free to do so if you really want to.

It's pretty obvious Jay doesnt think that. You seem to have an issue with him that goes beyond his reaction to vega as most of your posts in this thread have quite a confrontational undertone.

ye its probably more to my writing style then actually being head on so soz on that front, but for me vega is a good enough card, its not breaking any world records yet but its in no way a dog. And i dont specifically have an issue with jay beyond his double standards, his confrontational attitude to anyone who says anything that doesnt go along with his line and even aggressive manner to honest questions, he is always is on the attack. But this is a major over reaction, the price went up but that price was there and amd should have been more upfront about that but boycotting amd in total ?. Plus amd never told any reviewers that they had to have it done by nda release. It was there choice to work on a weekend.

And they did that to get there videos out first for the biggest number of hits to generate more cash. And any reviewer who doesnt think they are promoting a product when they review it are mental, thats active marketing, if they give it a bad review qudos but its still part of active marketing by getting eyes on a product to a wider audience. And this whole thing is just creating drama to generate views.

It's like Apple and Google, both desperate to be seen as cool cats who exist for the greater good of humanity, and people fall for it. They exist for one purpose, to make money, and if means screwing us over they will
