Vegas Hotels

only used Platinum car a couple of times, often it is busy, just a case of asking tbh

Free limos are not that common unless you spending big bucks :)

You'll not believe this Rotty, Platinum refused to either pick me up from the airport or take us both to Binions for the 2pm tourney. Bit disappointed with that to be honest, but we'll see.

We'll try the $20 'trick' with $30 on check in and I'll try and sweet talk reception when I check in. Fingers crossed.

Binions is only 7miles away, as well! Airport less so!

Looking at shows, ideas:

*
Penn & Teller @ The Rio (9pm, Sat only, $90 approx)
Muay Thai @ Hard Rock Hotel, The Joint (5pm Fri only, $80 approx)
Santana @ House of Blues (Mandalay Bay)*- $120
Cirque Du Soleil 'O' @*Bellagio - $155
Cirque Du Soleil 'Zarkana' @*Aria - *$162

Shows, O is good, Zarkana too new to know much about , personally I wouldn;' bother with the others though I suppose they are personal tsate

Love is the best or the Cirque shows

The best of all though is ABSINTHE don't look too far into it as you may spoil it for yourselves but whatever you do take my word for this and do not miss it, should be able to get 20% off tickets, if you get from ticketmaster try code ABS20 may still be valid

I only ever got a lift from Platinum once and that was grabbing it at the time rather than trying to prebook, taxi to binions will be about $30 or bus is $5 each

Im going to be staying in mandalay bay on friday. Is it any good? I was not too keen on staying there but they comped us a 2 bed suite so we are staying there for 3 nights.

I plan to see Love and celine dion

Mandaly if a very nice hotel, the location not so good, there is a free monorail to Excalibur which gets you a bit closer to stuff

Sorry to hear you are seeing Celine, hope you make a swift recovery :p

lol maybe I will switch Celine for absinthe.

Im not too bothered about location as we can just jump in a Taxi. I normally stay in the Trump which is off the strip.

Smartervegas.com is good for discount codes, we've used it every time we've been.

we stay at the MGM Grand.

im sure its the same with others but you can use a discount to book a room (only paying deposit) and keep an eye out for better discounts, if 1 comes up then re-book and cancel the original booking (you get a full refund until 48 hours before)

also we've used restaurants.com to get money off vouchers.

we used the vouchers in a variety of restaurants from small places to stripsteak in mandalay bay and they were accepted with no probs.

I use restaurant.com quite a lot too, search for a discount code on the vouchers though as you will normally get 70-80% off

Might be staying at Cosmo in Feb. Not stayed there previously but heard it's one of the best there these days - is that right?

Find it odd how they have balconies. Would have thought it'd be a huge health & safety risk!

Cosmo was fantastic when I stayed there, highly recommended although if you are a casual gambler like myself then you may find the minimum table limits prohibitive at weekends ($50 minimum) on all tables.

Yep - I stayed in the Cosmo last September for 4 nights and it was fantastic. Free upgrade to balcony rooms chucked in too. Arrived Thursday and left Monday.

Can't thank you enough for all your help so far Rotty, cheers mate. Got those tickets for Absinthe booked, and you discount code worked - thanks!

Thurs - I get in at 6:20pm. I may be shattered, but I'm sure we'll head into a casino for a mess about. See if I can stay awake to play some cash games. Try and speak to a card room re: specific vegas poker room rules (forward motion, rules re acting out of turn etc)

Fri - Try and get out of bed for an early poker tournament. Head out to play a bit of poker and grab lunch here: http://www.urbanspoon.com/rph/18/1622505/666549/las-vegas-tacos-el-gordo-tacos-photo?page=1 (Best Taco's outside of Mexico!). Go to shooting range in the afternoon: http://gunsandammogarage.com/packages . Fri night head out to see Absinthe. Head to Del Frisco's steakhouse for dinner: http://delfriscos.com/las_vegas-menu.php

Sat - Get up and mess about. Both play the 2pm $100 @ Binions (last longer bet for tourney entry!). Winner pays for lunch at In-N-Out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In-N-Out_Burger . Maybe have a sleep and massage at Platinum. Play more poker and casino games. More casino. Go and see Steel Panther @ House of Blues.

Sun - Recover. Maybe go shopping, or play $100 tourney at Binions again at 2pm. Go to Bacchanal for 3pm - 10pm setting. Have late lunch and dinner aprox 9:30pm. Poker in between.

Mon - Maybe go to Hoover Dam or Grand Canyon. More shopping if we can be bothered. Maybe another tourney or cash games at a different casino. Arrive at airport for 6:40pm for flights home :(
