US: Vikings - anyone else watching this ?

I don't understand why...

Lagatha killed her future husband? What was that about?

Because he betrayed her with Einar (season 3, Lagertha leaves for Wessex) to usurp her Earldom. And she promised him that one day, soon she would...

I didn't get why she went through all the trouble of setting up the wedding when she could have done it any other time. I wonder if she is really pregnant, or if that was a trick since I thought she was barren after her miscarriage.

In the olden days I believe a wife was considered a wife when she was merely betrothed to her future husband. Maybe Lagerth knew that once they were betrothed, she was considered his wife and the earldom would automatically pass to her on his death.

Think Ragnar is getting addicted to Opium. Hope the queen gets punished too.

I did not expect Lagatha to get her revenge like that.

Just finished watching episode 7..

It's sad to see Ragnar spiralling down now into addiction, I don't feel like Im rooting for him as much as I used to.

Question about the episode in the spoilers for anyone thats seen it...

Also, who the hells was that head that Ragnar was talking to at the end of the episode? I couldn't make it out, thought it was maybe one of those new king brothers' with the tattoo's but highly doubt it.

looked like floki(sp?) to me

Was it athelstan?

Good episode on the whole, altho a bit a confusing towards the end

Definitely not Athelstan then, maybe it's a character from Ragnars past we haven't been introduced to yet. His father maybe?

I don't think it matters who it is physically. It's of no relevance. The head is just a device to show you that Ragnar has lost his marbles - completely, entirely and with no boundaries.

The Chinese lass is going to be in a whole world of trouble when the others find out she's giving Ragnar whatever the drug is that's either making him that way or just speeding up the process. God help her if it's Floki.

The drug is most likely opium. It was what passed as a hit in that era of ancient China. Yes she is going to be shredded by the Religious Zealots in the group.
