@phatboy - gg got a make over!!

Here she is rocking some Alex kid in sms mode. I replaced the blue start button as it was sort of brown. :)

Case/Buttons etc all got a polish, new lense to make it pop!! Love it. Fully tested on battery and on dc jack, working perfectly in all modes, the only accessory you now cannot use is a TV tuner.

Oh my word!!!!! That looks unbelievable

Thank you so much

Right all packaged up and will be back with you in a few days :) - The good board is now also a complete console ready for some new owner somewhere in the world :)

It's no modded GG but nice honest original one with a recap.

I really need to fix up my GG or send It off somewhere, the blue GG looks sweet!
How difficult are the IPS mods to install these days? I used to mod Gameboys and install backlights and bivert chips so I'm pretty ok(ISH) with a soldering iron lol

Full video of a mod is up now so yea you can see if you fancy it! If you don't there is always room for another GG in my house to fix.

Its all in the hands of the postie now bud - On its way via Royal Mails finest! First class no less!
Awesome, cheers :) will let you know when it arrives, typically I have to go into the office tomorrow :(

I had a bit of a watch of the video last night but didn't watch it all as realised it had gone midnight when i started lol.

So much goes into the intricacies of the repair / mod process and you are pretty meticulous which is no bad thing. I would have melted holes in the board at least twice :p

Yea its proper long to be fair! I need to get batter at making these things like 30/40 mins but how does a man get so much footage and general waffle down to this sort of 30 min to an hour video? I dunno should have probably split it into a number of videos but meh we will get better in the next one. Each one is a bit of a learning experience!

I need to build me some more swan games. I had some modified / translated carts for sale and dude just came and bought basically everything I had  Dudes just deprived loads of watchers of the possibility of some English swan stuff.

Did a dude roll up in here and try and play with my toys? Unbelievable - Kids these days  - Keep up the good work @ci_newman - Doing gods work protecting us from the riff raff! - Oops did I just call our man Stevo riff raff :S

The big question is.... Did it turn up safe? Did royal mail do us proud?

it did indeed!

its awesome! managed to come home half day today as needed to help family out and it was waiting for me :D

Been playing some Sonic, cant believe the quality of the screen, mind blowing improvement. my advice to anyone would be the cost of the upgrade is 110% worth it!

That looks lovely! time to stick it on the retro shelf :) oh and its easily worth it, I never try and force anybody into it but the results really are worth it! To anybody out there thinking about it just use a screen that supports sms mode (preferably with the xilinx fpga) - It's also worth having a decent modder do it for you if you aren't confident. The results are somewhat dependent on bracketry, quality of parts used etc and it being done well. I'm not sure how much modders normally charge for it but parts alone run up about £60 for screen mod kit, lense and caps so its never going to be super cheap. There are screens out there that are cheaper in about the £40 rather than the £50 area and they should be avoided)

Glad you are happy with it buddy and any issues at all you know where I am :)
