Virgin media... and so it begins. restrictions started.

Server load :p MH = faster than London test - no point doing a test off a server that's loaded.

Not telling.

That's my machine, discounting the 2 lan machines online too.

That doesn't give us an accurate time window though, could've accumulated that before 4 or after 9 ;)

Or if not, why would you not receive the cap?

Sometimes I get capped to 5MB sometimes I don't. More don't than do though I find.

The one time i tried it i got capped to 5 meg but whats the fuss its only 5 hours now the capping period 4-9 and still that connection is better than most get on adsl max anway.

There's a web app here that converts kbps into Mbps:

http://www.numion.com/Calculators/Units.html

though it just seems to be dividing by 1000, which means that if that speed test I've just taken is right I'm only getting 2 Mbps on what is supposed to be a 4 Mb line (Virgin Media call it 'Up to 4 Mb') and no I've not been downloading loads of stuff, I just like having the speed.

Dont rely on speed test sites to test your connection. They are rarely right in my finding. Try an actual download.

Well I just d/l ed the Duke Nukem trailer from one of GamersHell UK servers and I was getting between 130 and 200 KBps when I should have been getting 500 KBps, so in my case the speedtest seems to be about right.
