If you signed up to VM/NTL through a router connected to an STB then your account would have been registered to your old routers MAC therefore any new router will require your old router MAC to be cloned on to it.

He was using the same router, just installed new firmware on it :)

Anyone knows how you can find out which area is your hub. My area is not listed in the schedule! I guess they only list the areas serving as hubs, but how I can find out. The closest listed to hammersmith is brent (hammersmith shares boundary with brent), so I guess I go with the Brent upgrade?

If you want to find out head to:

http://myip.dk/

Now the 2nd line will read something like mine:

cpc1-rdng13-0-0-cust950.winn.cable.ntl.com

see "..winn.cable...."

Winn = Winnersh. Which at the moment is TBC. Now I don't know all the abbreviations but I'm sure if you use your common sense you can work it out

Bah Crawley 'To be Confirmed'.

Oh well, 10Mb will do me for now I guess. :p Kinda sucks that the network limits are on until 12am. Just have to do my... erm... Linux distro downloading on the witching hour (or perhaps more aptly 'leeching hour').

Not every update is meant for your modem, hence the update failed, thats all it is...

Just to let you all know. I haven't received my 20mb upgrade yet, im still on 10mb. I have downloaded less than 1gb between 12am and now and ive been capped to 5mb  Why? So much for them doing it to be fair to customers, there just going to end up doing it to everyone regardless of the amount thats been downloaded during 4pm and 12am :p

My area was one of the first to be upgraded. Got a piece of kit that could actually handle more than 10mb on Friday and have had 20 ever since :)
Seems to go quite nicely ;)

Dont think youll be connected to Leiecester.. Most stoke users are connected to the Baguley Servers which are situated I believe in Manchester.
The 20mb schedule still says 'to be confirmed' for the upgrade for baguley users.
