Anyone else still waiting for the bridge mode firmware fix? My superhub is crashing every day now, heap of junk

Have the 30Mb just over 2 weeks now, and at the start the router was fine,
now....HA where to start, last few days started getting a lousy signal, random dropouts, when it came back and i connected i was getting limited connectivity.

So today, no connection, cannot even see it on the list, usually listed as Other network as i hide the SSID.

Reset router, still not on my list
powercycled again, and changed the settings on the router status page
showed up on my list for a few seconds, then gone.

so now connected via cable, and speeds are around 12-25Mb, before was always 30+

Im tired of having to power cycle this pos... :(

this is my first ever rant at VM, the wireless bridge could not come soon enough, will then have to spend more money investing in a decent router as my linksys WRT54G died, the reason for my original upgrade to the superhub, Gahhh

almost 5 years i had that router, setup in the attic, and very very very rarley i had to power cycle it, what a router!

Thanks for the replies. I'm afraid it was ignorance on my part as I assumed my card would do the job. They didn't give me a dongle when they installed it but they are sending one out to me now.

My ethernet cable is too short to hard wire and my laptop is currently at a mates but it looks like the N adapter will solve the problem. Will hard wire my laptop and test when I pick it up at the weekend.

Received my N adapter today. Installed and now getting 49.8Mb with wireless.

Very happy indeed!

I've never had any issues with my superhub thing. It seem to be packed with features that most modern routers (especially ones provided by an ISP) are not.

Only problem I have is the wireless reach, it's nowhere near as good as my old DG834GT.

Woohoooo! I'm getting the 50meg next week = )

I told them that I was leaving them for BT Infinity because I wasn't happy what I was getting. So, they going to upgrade my 20meg to 50meg + Tivo 500GB box and few extra bits.

I just got upgraded from 20Mb to 50Mb yesterday. Did a speedtest while the guy was still here, got 37Mbps Dwn and 1.8Mbps Upld.

Tried later on in the day and it just got slower and slower until around 24Mbps Dwn. This morning its at 27Mbps. I was gettings exatcly 20Mbps with the 20Mb service, so the engineer said i should expect at least 45+

Guess il have to call them back then....

I got a strange bug on my superhub. The wireless has totally gone on it.

My iphone cant connect to it. Tried everything.. changing frequency, disabling password... but still unable to connect. Was fine last night before I went to bed.

Yeah mine is an absolute PITA at the mo. Unbelievable drop outs within a short period of time and the so called (SUPERHUB) cannot even be seen half the time even if I reset by pulling the power cord to hard reset. I have the latest firmware but to no avail. I'm also paying for the 50 meg too and the speed is sub par since I got it a few weeks ago. Been trying many settings blah blah. I'm on the verge of giving them a piece of my mind over the phone tomorrow.

I'm currently hooked to my neighbours internet atm to trouble shoot and it is lightning fast compared to this and they are only on a 20 meg o2 package.

Rant over for the moment.

When I first got VM 50mb installed in Febuary I was given a Superhub. The Superhub is a total disaster and I can't believe it was allowed to be rolled out in the state the firmware is in and to this day. The awaited Bridge mode has been delayed multiple times (now delayed until July) and I wasn't prepaired to wait any longer. Superhub has poor wireless performace, drop outs throughout the day, stuck connections on FTP and SSH and a manner of other issues. I forced them within my 28 day notice to get rid of the Superhub and give me a VNMG300 instead or I would cancel and they did after a lot of complaining, but it wasn't easy!

Since I've had the VNMG300 my service has been excellent and very stable. My upload upgrade was done on the 6th May which was great and on the 15th May I was able to order 100mb!

Got 100mb installed on the 19th May but it was a long morning. First I had to tell two VM engineers who came around to **** off cause they wouldn't install 100mb on my VNMG300 and insisted that I would need a Superhub, no way I'm getting that Superhub again! Their installation department phoned me shortly after the engineers left and still insisted I would need the Superhub or I wont be getting the 100mb service, I didn't believe a word they said and said I will take this matter further!

After many calls to Techincal Support/Customer Service and Customer Relations and being fobbed off many times that the VNMG300 would not work on 100mb. I finally managed to get someone who agreed with me and they managed to force the 100mb config to my VNMG300 without any engineer present and now I have 100mb without the headache of the Superhub!

Anyone else been getting random dcs. Then reboot router. And still no connection. Inside the router status it says up and down are locked. Network access denied. Searching for dns. This is twice now! Both about 10 pm. Last time I rang up. And they are like need to send and engineer will be a week! I was like why and engineer. It's at your end- sort it. Think I'm Gunna have to get rid of this stupid superhub. Had it sonde Friday and it's driving me insane already.

You still got TV signal? Locked and access denied normally means the bill has not been paid!

I ahve the 50meg and a virgin superhub. Will changing the mtu from 0 to 1500 increase transfer speed across my home network? Particularly for access to my synology ds210j?
