Virgin Media Discussion Thread

Yeah my box has now finally upgraded.

However the saga continues, as it seems 02 wont port in my number from my old SIM, so thats the next battle...
 
I mean they put me on a "deal" thats overall better then i was paying for my previous package and my standalone SIM, with an upgrade to gig1, and all the TV - but its not as good as some others have been offered.

Either way, im paying less that i was before, for another 18 months with gig1 internet which is all i really cared about.

So for now i guess i could be "less" happy!
 
I signed up September for volt 250mbps @ £25.00 per month, went live October, and now I see Black Friday deals offering volt 500mbps for £27.00 per month which is slightly annoying... haha
Called them this morning to try and switch to the better deal but got told I'm out of cooling off period and seen as an existing customer, and that Black Friday deals for existing do not become visible until next Tues and no guarantee (probably unlikely) they will be as good as new business deals.

Told them I’d think about it. Coming to end of contract in January.

Shame vm don’t have uhd sky sports. They been saying it’s coming for last 2 years.

virgin only care about new customers and customers who give notice, if you're in contract forget getting any sort of deal from them

so all that for £100 per month or just £75?

Still awesome I pay £110 and lot less then that lot, 2 boxes and similar channels but 350MB just to give you some perspective.

I think if it was £75-85 it would be something one could not refuse almost, 3 boxes is pretty good.

could be worse I ended up on £26 for 100MB (now 125mb) tbf I dont need the extra speed but would prefer lower price

We are paying £90 for it right now but with 600mb instead of the 1gb. But il be moving away from virgin. As I would like a better upload and brsk are now in my area and charging £22.50 for 1gb/1gb for the first year.

We only watch the footy on live tv so will sort something out for it. Rest is all Netflix etc

For £22.50 can't go wrong really, VM BB has gone down for me twice last week its really a difficult service to use sometimes, believe 15th time this year might go Community Fibre but will see if VM can offer a deal next spring.

I renewed 25th October £26 for 100mb including 02 sim 4gb data

I think I still have time to cancel but best I can probably get faster speed looking at the black Friday deal which I don't really need and don't think I can be bothered to try to get better deal

If you're still in cooling off period you should definitely consider calling up the retentions team and threatening to cancel unless they whack you on the Black Friday deal, gotta be worth it surely? Also if you have an O2 sim you should be eligible for the volt speeds which 100mbps doesn't sound like it is? (and double O2 data)

It was originally 50mb with 2gb data , can't be bothered going through retentions again I was fine on 100mb that's with streaming 4k and few others streaming never had issues so with it now 135mb be even less of an issue I only occasionally download game that's only thing the faster speed will be useful for

Yeah ideally I should have waited till now to negotiate really can't be going through that again

If you can get Community Fibre then it's really not worth staying with VM unless you watch all of their TV channels.

If they did a better upload than 52mb. I’d stick with them. I’ve had to stick with vm all these years and we had no other fibre available. But now brsk is here, competition is healthy.
