Still down..
Must be across Derby, Notts/Newark, Lincolnshire as well.
Just had my bill which I thought I had sorted out a month or so ago via several phone calls, it randomly went up, so I phoned up again and the bloke reckoned it was the may increase which they had agreed several times to waive, anyhow he said they would put it right again so I'll wait and see. Really tempted to cancel early just to get away from them and their random prices.Virgin are proper scum.
On April 15th I rang them up to give 30 days notice, I was put through to an English staff member who tried to talk me out of it but I insisted I was leaving.
I asked if my next bill on April 24th would be the last and he confirmed it so I said on April 25th I will cancel the Direct Debit.
He advised me not to because on May 24th I will be given a refund so wait until May 25th.
Just had a bill for £79 for May 24th so I've cancelled my Direct Debit and the refund can go in their pockets, I just want rid of them.
They will just say your street in over subscribed, nothing they or you can do, easy get out for then!Current state of my connection for the last 24 hours:
Engineer coming out to look at my connection, with veiled threats of £25 charges if they can't find a fault. Well I'll make sure they see these graphs then.
It's odd, because I can get the full speed I'm subscribed for, but webpages just sometimes don't load properly. Refreshing the same page when it fails to load almost always loads the page. They will just say your street in over subscribed, nothing they or you can do, easy get out for then!
They will have a 'fix date' that will inevitably keep on getting booted X months into the future. If they admit congestion, you can get a rebate applied to your account until it's fixed. They won't offer it, but if you ask... I was getting £10 a month back (ish, may have been a bit more) and told all the neighbours about it. Soon the whole street (almost) was claiming £10 a month for congestion. VM upgraded our node very quickly and no problems since. Funny, that. They will just say your street in over subscribed, nothing they or you can do, easy get out for then!
That really isn't odd, it's how average VM connections have performed for at least a decade. It's odd, because I can get the full speed I'm subscribed for, but webpages just sometimes don't load properly. Refreshing the same page when it fails to load almost always loads the page.
It's happening across more than one device, wireless and wired. But the boffins on the phone at Virgin Media always complain because I've changed some of my Wi-Fi settings and they promise that changing them will fix my problem.
Always use wired where possible (I did see you say you use both). If you're using Virgin's crappy DNS, dump it and use something else like 9.9.9.9 (dns.quad9.net) or 1.0.0.1 (dns.cloudflare.com). Make sure you're using uBlock Origin and try a clean browser profile. If you're using VM's Hub as your router, put it into modem mode and use a proper one. But yeah, as Chris said, crap like this is pretty standard for VM.It's odd, because I can get the full speed I'm subscribed for, but webpages just sometimes don't load properly. The page loading issue only started for me on Friday and my graphs show it getting worse each day. That really isn't odd, it's how average VM connections have performed for at least a decade.
My main PC (which I'm using now) that I primarily use is wired directly into the SuperHub 3. I use uBlock Origin with Firefox and have set CloudFare as my DNS provider in Firefox's settings. I might try another DNS provider to see if it improves things for me.Always use wired where possible (I did see you say you use both). Oof. See if they'll upgrade you to a Hub 5, and preferably run it in modem mode. Sounds like you're doing everything else right - try a clean profile (go toSuperHub 3

, make a new one, launch it). What does your TBB graph look like?Spoke to sales and it was basically upselling their tv package, which then resets on contract to another 18 months, think I have 10 left and FTTP is rolling out in my area so I’m sitting tightWhy did you accept the £7 price increase?
