Virgin Media Discussion Thread

It's infuriating this game you have to play. My current deal ends next week, I e already signed UK with sky, which is due to switch on 3rd Ocotber.
Got the call yesterday and bam! they've pulled me back in.
1gb
Sky sports HD, cinema, kids, tnt sports, Netflix, 2 boxes
£68 for 18 months
With sky I wasn't getting tnt or cinema and bb was 150mb, and they wanted £66.
Just wish there was a better way than doing the cancel dance

I got offered that for £93 so cancelled. I told him OCUK would hear of it but he didn't care. ;)

Looks like I've got the issue with these weird blocks of max latency on the BQM again. Had this in April.

It's not congestion as I can still get full speed (QoS is applied).

Admittedly, it doesn't appear to be affecting anything but would be interested to know what causes it. VM's poor routing?

Since I cancelled VM have rang me a few times but I've not bothered answering. So they texted me the most amazing deal.....bare in mind I was on 1Gbps for £31. They offered me 125Mbps for £27. Needless to say I won't be calling them back in a hurry!
Why do they even bother offering deals like that, no one would take that up (compared to your previous offer that is)

Day 1...as in the first day after we cancelled and wife got home to 2 x missed calls from VM already! 4 more weeks until deadline day so I expect they will try again hopefully at a time when she can pick up.

Hate that song and dance routine, but you have to put in the effort check around hotuk deals and topcash back and any perks@work websites or apps and keep getting those better deals!

Thanks for the recommendation, literally just about to begin the tiresome process of cancelling to try and get a reasonable price on renewal.

Trying to move home with VM and good lord what a nightmare. The web chat doesn't work, puts me in a virtual queue which after a while goes into a perpetual "do you want to wait" question which requires answering and then pops up every 30s again and again, tried the phone and after 54m they've hung up on me. What a faff lol.

Virgin have offered to cancel all my services with no penalty as they can't fix my upload issue. But they can't offer a monthly bill credit? Seems mad to me.

I do consume TV services, including TNT Sports which I have now with VM. Even as a new customer with Sky, it works out being more expensive to get the equivalent package. And I'd lose backup broadband.

That means they want rid of you for some reason. That's obv by the wording. So they willing to let you go.
