Also noticed that you can change the LED status light brightness as well. Need to login to do that.

Same as me then, power savings woohoo :)

I don't see much change for modem mode, my network is as should be and no better.

You still going to keep it then ?
For backup internet, yes. I only got the Virgin sub as Sky/TNT sport in 4k worked out significantly cheaper than Sky.

Not sure what I will do next December, I may just do without it and get a Now TV subscription, if you are a fan of Rugby, Football, and F1 it's quite expensive per month! We don't care for normal TV services otherwise, all we watch is streaming services and main channel stuff.

The joys of being the only VM address for the postcode is random routers turning up every few months or so as people sign up.

I just... wtf. How are people on such differing price deals. Insane. I might cancel now then. We only agreed the new deal on Friday so within 14 days. Can one cancel via WhatsApp? No joke, wife was on the phone for over an hour trying to cancel and sort this deal the other day.

Unbelievable, isn't it.

I've been with them over a quarter of a century and can't even get close to a deal like this.

Awaiting the day when I can get 1Gb for a decent price from another provider, and will happily kiss them goodbye.

Wife missed about 4 calls from VM in the first day or two after we cancelled. Since then nothing. Wonder if we've missed the boat now.
When I cancelled with them back in April, they rang me a few times in the first couple of days but then nothing like you say. In the end I rang their retentions number when my cut off day was near as I actaully wanted to stay with them. I cancelled again at the end of September, again they rang me a few times shortly after, even sent a text this time but then nothing.

Changed provider now so VM can do one :p

I cancelled VM this week. I am on their 1gig speed but have gone over to Yayzi for £29.99 a month, which is a good saving from VM.

Monday I will find out if Yayzi (Cityfibre) is actually any good :)

Cheapest I can find at the moment is BT £42.99 for 24 month contract, makes me want to stay with Virgin @ £35.99 (1GigE)

Just had an email from VM offering an upgrade! 350M to 500M for an extra £3 per month, if 1gb was offered at that price I might consider it but with BT Open reach pulling fibre all round my town I’ll wait

Open reach finished upgrading our road last month, I've been with Virgin for 20 years and they are forever overcharging me and then offering a discount that when it ends goes back to what I was originally paying which is still more than the current advertised price.

I signed up to Vadaphone full Fibre with free landline. I selected 200Mbs for £30 a month as we have 2 mobiles with them. The installers fitted it on Wednesday and it's showing a constant 208/9Mbs and the wifi is way better than with virgins hub. Leaving Virgin was a nightmare, I have printed out conversations with an agent showing I clearly want to end my contract of b/band & phone, sent a letter to Virgin detailing the same thing but they sent an email detailing my "new bundle"
You wait 90 minutes to finally get an online agent, over an hour to talk to someone. I finally got it sorted on Virgins forum where someone got it put right and I now have a refund coming and a request to return the hub, I can see they have cancelled the direct debit, then I get another email from Virgin with my "new bundle"

I Wish I could leave VM but if I do I go from an 250mb service down to a 50mb service and with game updates being quite big these days and working from home I need the better speed.

I have been with Virgin since the days of them being Cable Tel\NTL and I still get crap deals but for the last 4/5 years I have only had their BB and cancelled all their other services as we where just not using the live tv functions and watched everything on demand.

Are Open reach not updating the local phonelines in your area? if so then you will get multiple choices of b/band like I now have. Where I live is semi rural but decades ago Telelewest knocked on doors asking if they were interested in signing up and the underground cable was laid along as far as my house where there is a big plate near my drive and the big cable ends. Since then Virgin has connected to properties further along the road but the cable must come from another direction.
My new Vodaphone full fibre line comes from newly laid underground cables and then overhead along poles, we are three miles from the exchange but it makes no difference to my speed as it's running full speed at all times, I now have my own dedicated fibre link all the way back to the exchange. The max speed they can supply is 910Mbps
