Another ridiculous multi-hour negotiation exercise with Virgin as my contract is due to finish in the next couple of weeks and the out of contract 'standard price' was more than double what I have been paying.
However, as last time WhatsApp chat was the way to go - started with regular customer service who could only offer something which was still a 35% price increase on last year for the same package. Threatened to cancel so then transferred to retentions, who eventually came up with decent offers.
I finally settled on a similar package to last year (500Mbit internet, mixit TV and anytime phone) for £44 p/m which is actually £7 cheaper than I've been paying for the last few months. If they had just initially offered to continue the same package at the same price I'd probably have taken it!
