Virgin Media Discussion Thread

Really annoyed at VM, not at the service of our 50mbit as it has been excellent (never slows down), but the information around 100mbit rollout is terrible.

No one at VM seems to know what is going on with the rollout in our area. I struggle to understand how, when at UKO they had wads of detail on our local exchange when it was going 8mbit and 24mbit.

Does anyone know who I need to speak to in VM?!

There is a spreadsheet somewhere on VM website, which you can open, and it shows which areas have 100Mb, and when other's are due to get it. You just need to find out which exchange you are on.

I know. No one knows beyond what is on there. I have tried multiple departments and the forum. Our area changed from Dec-11 to Being Planned.

You would think they would know, like many other ISPs.

My connection is poor again

I'm meant to be on their 100mb line?

I thought london and paris is the only things u can use the test on for 100mb pack as the others wouldnt work properly or somit?

Btw ace im curious as to what this speedtest shows. Can you let me know? As i am more favour of this sites test than speedtest sites one.

I wonder what on earth is going on at the moment. Must be some major problems on their network and exchanges they can't find/can't be bothered to fix.

If my problem really is someone downloading, I would love to know how they are able to flood the entire network with it, and make my speeds drop from perfect 50Mb to 2.5Mb.

If they don't fix it by next week, I'm going to get really angry with them, and start asking for full credit on my bill. It's unacceptable. Of course, the worst thing is, it ONLY happens at night, so no one will be available to look at it!

On 30 not 50meg but i'm ****ing sick of having useless internet. On days it does actually work, it's ****.

Iplayer buffers every few seconds then cuts out completely with the 'insufficient bandwidth' message.

A_M, your power levels look fine (up&down), so the problem is likely to be in the cab or further down the line on Virgin's side.

If I were you I'd arrange for an engineer visit, go through on option 5, it's typically the quickest way if faults fob you off.
