The £18 I'm guessing will be for new customers only.

They are probably saying £46 because they don't know about the updated prices as they only came out today.

No it says for new and existing customers, they are such a mickey mouse operation ! I despair.

I just went only their website and looked at changing my package via the online system and seems their prices havent updated yet:

Size: XXL •Up to 50Mb
•More information
•Free Wireless N router
•Free Wireless N Adapter
£52.00 per month

They are telling me £60.50 per month for xxl bb m phone and xl tv + £50 install fee, for xxl bb m phone and xl tv and I am paying £58 total for 20mb now so basically it's £2 more for 50mb makes sense huh.

retentions guy told me no existing customer has gotten it any cheaper especially the £20 install £30 activation fee and every existing customer must pay the £50.

Don't know who to believe really.

Just had mine installed. Got it for £30 installation and activation fee waived.

The wireless router is a D-Link 615 http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=565 the engineer said they have just released these to Virgin Media. Not sure if it's a decent one or not, I already have a router.
How was it waved then I just spent 20 mins on phone and everyone pays the activation fee.

I am going to get it it's only £2.50 a month extra seems silly not to and i tried to haggle over the £50 setup charge to no avail.
On a side note exactly what is wrong with the netgear router ? are you sure it's not just a case of you need to upgrade the firmware ?
Should I demand the dlink or the netgear ?

That's a pretty good price, looks like they are offering free installation:

"Standard Installation
Special offer: Free installation - save £30

Or you can install your equipment yourself from
just £15 instead - just choose Quick Start self-install during checkout

50Mb broadband activation £20.00"

thats for new customers only

everyone be aware you will pay £20 install fee and £30 activation fee total £50

I paid the £20 for the install but not the £30 activation fee.
I pay £39 a month for 50MB and M TV and M phone.

I am going to look at the TV M+, see how much that is first and ask for the free Netbook.

How ? and did you record the convo :p so i can play it back to retentions ? I'd love to get one over on them they are absolutely 100% adamant that every existing customer must pay the £50.

Ordered mine getting 50 mb m phone and xl tv for £60.50 per month + £20 activation and £30 install.

I never talk to a guy but if I do get one, I just say sorry wrong dept and hang up.

I did have XL TV\XL Phone\20 Mb for £44 a month, but I dont watch the TV much
so I talked to retentions(a lady) act as if I know Nothing and I really need her help with my problem.

And I told her its on the VMs web page but all she could offer was for me to pay an extra £18.
Being sort of cash I said no(and then in a little boys voice)
I guess I will have to counsel my contract with my VM then :(

She comes back with HOLD ON then I got the deal :D

BUT now I have a new contract for one year, so that means I have 29days to pull out.
I will be using this against them very soon ;)

I've never had any issues with the STM on my 20Mb connection but thought this should be mentioned as many people and forums are saying that the 50Mb is STM free.

Looks like I got a call to make tomorrow :)

I just tried calling them, got a yank first who didnt have a clue then got someone else in customer services who basically told me I had 9 months of a retention deal to go and if I wanted 50mb broadband it would cost me £15/mo more over my current package of -

TV - XL
phone - XL
BB - XL
V+
Caller Display

So I dint get offered the 50mb for the differnece in price between that and the 20mb (£8/mo by my maths) , I said no. I might try again tonight though.

I have said I have M TV not XL.

Must be the way you talk to people not to get a discount, and as I see it you pay more then the VM site says on the Build you own web page.

Taking that pic down now you have seen it C64
