I must have missed out on that one!

I also pre-date the Virgin takeover, from the Telewest / Blueyonder days, and still see no reason to change supplier. I just wish they'd treat their loyal customers better, but I guess that's business.

EDIT: Forgot to add my question!

I'm having an SH2 installed tomorrow. Does it do simultaneous dual band wireless? Or am I going to have to stick it in modem mode like my current SH1 and use my separate router?

Yes it's works on both at the same time, unlike sh1 which is one or the other, I want to upgrade to the sh2 also as my Nexus 5 n 7 both do 5 gig

Hey guys, I'm back home for a little while. Convinced my Dad to ditch the modem that was installed back when I was in high school.

So he now has one of the new super hubs. He was told it can potentially go to 152Mb/s

Speed tests are displaying roughly 50Mb/s, do Virgin gradually increase this over a few days much like Sky or should I be prodding them to increase the speed?

Are you paying for 152mb? I suspect they've just upgraded you to the superhub and not increased the speed of your package.

If you login to my.virginmedia.com it will tell you everything you have on your current package.

He came round early due to a cancellation. TiVo box is much quicker than the one I had a few years ago and the broadband speed is great. Shall see how it is over the next few weeks.

Where you not on Infinkty Milano? What made you move back?

I was on Plusnet 40/10, because my line can't do 80/20. I was still paying the full amount and Plusnet weren't willing to give me any discount as I was on the 80/20 package (to get unlimited). They didn't do a different package with unlimited.

Virgin offered me a decent deal for 6 months for internet, TV and phone, a lot less than I was paying for Sky TV and Plusnet so I thought I'd give it a go.

If it's terrible I'll switch back, already got out of a contract with VM, pretty sure I can do it again.

As for TiVo vs Sky - I don't watch TV much except for sports, which I get on both. To me the IQ seems higher with Virgin though. The GF watches a lot of on demand stuff and prefers TiVo so that's a small win.

Think its time to rename my Graph, did that during the SH2 beta testing so I could compare to SH1

Edit: Ohh the above graph has updated name here after I edited it.

strange question

I am on the new 12 month big bang contract (existing customer) someone mentioned you can cancel any new contract within 28 days ? My new virgin contract arrived and says you must cancel within 7 days....

Any idea who is right?

I was thinking of attempting that cheeky workaround mentioned few pages back, as in cancel the virgin contract. Then wait 3-4 days time and sign up and get new customer offer of half price @ 6 months.

Not sure if that would work though ?

Do not think it works so soon and would loose you any loyalty deductions, call CS and ask to be moved to new package and contract.

Any confirmation of this?

Some guy a few pages ago was mentioning this as his strategy.....

thinking about it it does sound quite simple and well if your a new customer then why not get the decent offers.

But I too thought this sounds too good to be true perhaps Virgin have a 28 day ruling before your off there database?
