Virgin Media Discussion Thread

Good God I'm loving it.

Just keep forgetting things take seconds to download.

Checked a couple of new posts on 2 threads and realised a 424mb update had already finished downloading.

Just a shame when servers can't keep up.

If you still have issues tomorrow bud get onto VM and tell them your on 50meg, you get a totally different team and they are usually english people they should be able to get something sorted.

On a different note, does anyone find they have to reboot the either the modem or router a lot? its almost like either one or the other just freezes and a reboot is needed to make them work again, or is it just me.

This what I had for months. Have a look at the modem log see if you have any T3 errors.

I had a re-pull and so far so good(but it won't last I know it)

Ahh you mean like these No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM- theres 9 of them dated today in about a 3 min time frame lol, hmm it doesnt happen all the time, its quite random.

a quick question.. how do i get the price down.. we are paying a lot for what we get compared to some of you here's the package and price

Large TV
Medium phone
Large internet - 10mb that is

tv costs - £25 a month
phone - not used(can we cancel it?) £10 - as i can remember
Internet - A whopping £25 for 10mb..

where do i call how do i get the price lower - package better?

the total we always pay £58+ a month..

That's them...press the reset button in for 1 min then pull the plug and then plug it back in and see.

I think it may well be your upload that's doing it. So when you get them again have a look at the modems Upstream
I think you will find the T3 errors there.

How on earth are you paying £25 for 10MB?!

as someone said old NTL prices probably.. :/ so how do i go about it should i get a lower price or should i get a better package? whats the best way to approach them? should i just pretend to want it canceled? will they try and reason with me? as i can get be there 24mb internet for 21 quid..

I deleted my some of my biggest steam games and re-downloaded them lol, was funny watching them download so bloody quick...and you know what, ever since i had mine installed the biggest thing ive downloaded since was a 150mb patch for a game lol.

Just to clarify, I haven't read the whole thread but for those of you that are getting 20-30 and not the full 50......................If you are using a 54g wireless adapter in a laptop for example or you are using the provided USB adapter you cannot get the full 50. The only wireless adapter i've found that allows the full 50meg is the edimax PCI with 3 antennas. It's either that or ethernet, otherwise you might as well get the 20meg service.

can i just see if im getting ripped off here, is anyone getting the same or similar services to me for less money, i have....

large TV
phone line
50mb

and im paying £50.99 a month for the lot
