Virgin Media Discussion Thread

Tbh, I dont think 50 meg is not needed, We have the sky 4meg connection, and its fine, for streaming films, and playing abit of CSS at the same time xD

What's the cheapest anyone is paying for 50mb on it's own - or with the basic TV/phone?

Well I am having the 50meg installed in 2 weeks. I will be paying £62 a month for XXLBB (50meg), XL TV(V+ box) and L Phone (talk evenings and weekends).

They have given me a free install of the 50meg which was nice as I'll be spending more each month. And sending me a shiney new router for free.....

Yep mine played up end of last month for 4 days and when the tec guy came out it was ok and now today the lights on my virgin modem are going crazy and internet is very flaky and i want to replace the netgear router i got with my 50 meg for somit but dont know what one to get any ideas?

our 50meg came with a belkin because virgin released that the netgear devices couldnt cope with the throuput (i think that was the reason) they should replace it for you, failing that we have a dedi atom box running pfsense

I've got a mates rate (know someone at Virgin)
50MB BB
XLTV
V+
SD Box
Unlimited land line and V mobile calls

...£41 a month! (and its not a deal, thats the price)

Must be a good deal, as I was paying £38.50 for just BB before I went via a mate (or maybe i was ripped off before!).

jeez :O mad

anyone else got the tv packages as well?
we pay like £27 a month extra for them so we get all the sport channels and all the film ones.

When i rang up a few days ago they told me to go onto http://allyours.virginmedia.com/websales/product.do?id=11029 =/
Same tv with the extra channels. Double speed of net. A lot better phone (currently we get free weekend only)
So um

Guys, if I go for the XXL broadband, M+ tv (without HD box), and the lowest phone package as a bundle, I have to pay a one off £20 bill now and a monthly bill of £11.99 for 12 months, is this a mis calculation or is that right? if it's right, I'm signing up now lol.

Free for 2 months
then £33.50 a month*
12 month contract
*When you take a Virgin phone line for £11.99 a month

That is what it should be for XXL BB, M+ TV, M Phone package.. Free for the first 2 months then you pay £45.49 per month (£33.50 p/mo + phone line rental of £11.99 p/mo)..

Not sure were you got one-off bill of £20 then only £11.99 p/mo as that would only cover the line rental.. You may have misread it or not clicked on the right package .. ?

Im ready to smash the hell out of anyone who I see who works for Virgin media.

Since the back end of this week the connection has been terrible, constantly disconnecting or being intermittently slow.

Phone up, Indian call centre, brilliant start.... They cant do anything unless the line isn't working at that time, of course it's working perfectly when I'm on the phone. I've been on hold for 20 minutes and it's come back round to working fine in that time. All he can tell me is what I can find out online, that there are no issues or maintenance on the line currently.

Looking on their site, it's the same fault that the entire of Derby has been having since the start of the month, and they dont seem to know or to be able to fix the problems there!

What can I do, phone up the cancellations, hope they are English (which are only open Monday-Friday 8 to 8 and limited hours on a Saturday), threaten to leave and explain why then hope they can do more than just read a pre-written computer says do this sheet?

yer you could just ring up cancellations if tech support is getting no where. See what they say

and btw the cancelations service call centre is English, while all of tech support is Indian or something
