Virgin Media Discussion Thread

I use Devolo 1200+ which I've had maxing my connection before. But it depends on your own home and the wiring. The ones I bought are pricey but there are some cheaper alternatives.

Thanks for the information. I will look into the Devolo 1200+

Some whos been upgraded go to the virgin site and put your postcode in but select a different address see if it says you can have 200mb or only 152mb.

Mine says i can only have 152mb and my upgrade date is jan

Mine says i can have 200mb now and my date is February.

Not happy at all. 152mb down was already being limited by pretty much all download servers, 200mb is going to make very little difference. I'd have been happy if they increased the pathetic upload speed.

Just checked mine 150mb from the end of February 2016. Presently I have the 100Mb and i get a constant download speed of 126Mb. No flutations at all throught the morning, afternoon and through the night 7 days a week.

Looking good :D

Theres only a price increase if your not on a package.

Im on the big kahuna so no price raise for me.

Sorry, when you say package, do you mean TV? Only wondering as we only have Internet and Phone with VM. So would this mean a price increase for me?

Then if I was, what happens to the already paid phone line and the £6 reoccurring discount?

for my postcode it says 200Mb which i also told retentions but they said that they can't do a early upgrade, and said i have to wait for the email which will be by the end of November.

They just upgraded me on the phone even though it's not due until February. It seems it just depends on who you get on the other end.

Yes will be an increase the packages are like the

Big kahuna package that they do / bundles

Just logged into mine and it said ready for installation.

They are sending me an email in the next 48h to confirm my bill, which shouldn't change as I'm on the big package one.

Still no config update since this morning, so I just gave them a call and gave them my order number and she upgraded me over the phone. Hasn't updated my end yet but should be pushed through soon I hope.

My upgrade is booked in for two weeks today. Upto 200Mb but need a new superhub. Will they need to run new cables; or is it just a case of plugging the new one in?

I moved my superhub when I last decorated and they run under the floor now to the other side of the room.
