Virgin Media Discussion Thread

Got my email saying I can now order "vivid", ordered it and they are confirming my new price(says it might be zero but bit annoying all the same......).

Got 4 people living with me, all wired. When I am gaming and another user is torrenting it causes my ping to go extremely high in games.

I have full control of the router (RTN66U) anything I can do?

Here is what my poor 50meg has to put up with but we are getting a upgrade to 70meg soon.

block the user using torrents :D or limit there dl/ul speed?

Agree with other members, would prefer higher upload speeds than download speed increase.

I have no idea what's going on any more.

The first rumours were that all speeds would be doubled, so 50/100/150 become 100/200/300.

Then I see my account page says I'll go from my current 100 to 150 and people in this thread are now saying it'll be 70/150/200.

If you look at the VM products page though the only things available are 50/100/200, so I'm going to get upgraded to a speed which isn't even sold.

What a mess.

The rumours were just that, rumours.

The official increases are as I stated.

What you're looking at is available packages, which are separate to the upgrades.

I need to speak to them again really as my package is a joke - I'm paying more than full retail price, let alone factoring in new customer offers.

Every time I speak to them I never get anywhere with any kind of discount or loyalty deals though. Been with them for 14 years but only broadband and phone, no TV so presumably they don't care about me really so never offer me anything. That or they realise I don't have any viable alternative and so won't leave.

I never seem to get that far. Don't you actually have to threaten to leave and effectively call customer services' bluff to get put through to retentions? Is there a direct number for them?
