Virgin Media Discussion Thread

My speed boost keeps on going backwards, first it was Dec then January now it's April and now they want more money, is it worth trying to cancel, has anyone had much luck with that ?

Just checked mine, and it has gone back from January 2016 to "between March 2016 and May 2016" !! Bit pathetic, I was on 152MB before I downgraded to 100.... so it isn't as if it needs testing or anything.

My speed boost is now moving at faster than light speed ... hence this message on my "My VM" page

Broadband just gone done in Portsmouth area, tried using their service status page on my phone 4g and the page dosent work either.

EDIT : Service page working now, fault in the area affecting TV and Broadband, expected to be fixed tonight 22:30 apparently.

Well virgin can go and get knotted
Waited in all day yesterday for my new hub. Didn't arrive so rang CS who informed me it was scheduled for Weds. Not a happy bunny - so told them to shove it. Should have known better as its not the first time this has happened

The only problem with that is unless you are in one of the very limited BT fiber areas you have to go back to ADSL and were i live its crap....

I have been with comcast/ntl/virgin since 2000 and in all that time i have been without my internet conection for less than 3 days in total. ( and this included a house move )

Yes i hated it when the CS left the UK and yes they messed my superhub install by two days but for the good service and the spot on speed i forgive them :) :)
 
I hate TIVO, it's a patronising pos that records crap I'd never watch and to top it off it clashes 'suggestion' recordings with my actual links that more often than not cut their recording time short by five minutes.

What a pos. I'm dropping all TV and my phone line come Feb and going BB only.

You know you can turn that feature off, right?

Phone them up and ask to be upgraded straight away. That's what I did even though it said I was months away from having my speed boosted for free.

All sorted. Whilst the CS is garbage the service in the last four years has been superb.
Got a phone call which resulted in two free months :) plus my router turned up on Tues :rolleyes:
Their systems really are crap. Anyway 150 meg sorted so happy with that.:D
